My girlfiend and I had a great stay at Be Angkor. We happened to go right after a major flood had hit the city but the hotel’s manager/owner Martin was kind enough to personally communicate with us the risks and solutions for us. This included ground transportation from the airport by a driver that was kind and helpful enough to know where not to go. We were greeted by Martin and he was extremely helpful in guiding us around the surrounding locations for the best places to eat, things to do, etc. So overall the service was extremely good.

The room appeared relatively new/recently refurbished compared to local standards. It was one of 3 unique designs, there are only 3 rooms in the hotel which made catering towards one’s need much better for a boutique hotel such as this. The shower was a little weak as it was mostly powered by solar, so you had to inform the hotel if you were going to have a shower early in the morning because it wouldn’t have had enough time to power the pump and heat the water if you needed it. Despite the fact that the hotel was situated in a very busy part of town (a truly ideal location), we were well insulated enough not to be bothered by the clamor going on in the street below. There was always something to do downstairs and if you needed to have a drink and people watch, they had the bar/lounge opposite the hotel which you could relax in after a trip down to the sites.

And lastly, they were very helpful in terms of arranging trips and excursions for us. I’m not sure about the price that we paid, but I trusted the management enough not to feel like I was being overcharged, which I rarely feel when I travel. But ultimately I feel we got the best in class in terms of service, attention, cleanliness, rooms, etc. This is a great hotel for a decent price, though it may appear pricey if you are comparing the rates domestically in Siem Reap. I was happy paying it.

Room Tip: Would recommend speaking to Martin about places to eat and things to do ahead of your trip so his staff can help arrange anything that you need. Also would definitely take the hotel's transportation to and from the airport.

Thank you for the kind review David and thank you for staying with us. I handle all emails and bookings so always happy to provide as much information in advance as needed though we have a great team at the hotel that book tours or any other activities of interest. And, they know what I recommend in terms of restaurants and are always happy to make arrangements. Regarding price, we strive to deliver a great room product, in the best location and truly personalized service so I think that makes us a good value. There are many, many cheaper places to stay or places that say they are five star but can not deliver as well as we do (that was a direct comment from a recent guest). Are we perfect? Of course not since there is no such thing as a perfect hotel but we always care to do whatever we can to make our guests comfortable and help them to have a memorable stay.

Travelled mostly alone, a friend and her travel partner had an overlapping stay on the first night hence we shared the room. First trip to Siem Reap and room was booked via email after several searches online.

ROOM
The hotel only boasts of 3 rooms - each of a different boutique concept and designed by local artists. We had the Saffron Room throughout. Rooms are generally big and located on the upper floors of the shophouse (stairs access), which shares the space with an adjoining art gallery and restaurant. Loads of space to move around with a balcony, comfy bed which is large enough for 2. 3 of us managed to share on the first night! Just a note that bathrooms are open concept so it might be a concern if you are private about it.

LOCATION
Hotel is 20mins away from airport or Angkor temple grounds, sits on the passageway with plenty of eateries around so you will never go hungry or thirsty. Taxi would cost 7USD one way from the airport but departure is provided by hotel at no charge. 1-2hours drive for other temples such as Pre Rup, Banteay Srei, Bang Melea - I used driver Sophean (+855 92 986 353) who spoke excellent English and told tales and history about Cambodia. Hotel will also introduce drivers and guides upon request. Pub Street is right around the corner, convenience stores / souvenir shops all around. Old Market is also 3-5min walking distance away.

MEALS
Breakfast included, ala carte style with preorder done the night prior. Tried the american breakfast set (tomato, eggs, toast and mushrooms) and fruits with muesli set. Decent to get going prior to temple hopping. The hotel also prepared croissants to take away when we went out early for sunrise at Angkor Wat. Very easy to have meals; loads of restaurants right at the door step of the hotel - do try the Cambodian BBQ and Khmer food places down the passageway. You will be delighted to hear of beer prices as low as USD0.50.

AMENITIES/FACILITIES
Standard bathroom amenities and hairdryer provided. Nice touch by hotel to provide cotton buds and wools for ladies. Rooms are decorated by nice art pieces and ours gave a very zen vibe. Minibar also includes complimentary soft drinks which are a saviour after a long day temple hopping. Hotel also owns the Linga Bar across the passage and Linga Spa on the 2nd floor.

OTHER
Friendly staff who are very considerate and helpful. They are always more than delighted to introduce Siem Reap and show the best places to visit so feel free to ask! We always came back to clean, neat and tidy rooms so kudos to that.

VERDICT
4/5; will come back to stay due to convenience and great service by staff.

p/s Honeymooners please enquire about The One Hotel (one room property by same team) which is super awesome!

We just came back from Siem Reap and we spent 3 nights at Hotel Be Angkor. The hotel is located right in the heart of Siem Reap happening area. It's located stone throw away from Pub Street.

The week of our arrival the hotel already sent us email confirming our flight details and confirm airport pick up, which is nice. We arrived early in the morning and the staff was waiting and greeted us with a warm welcome. On the way to hotel, he provided us with several info about the hotel and Siem Reap.

The hotel is a boutique type hotel with only 3 rooms so it is very personalize. The hotel is small as it is located in the city center … one side is Pub street and the other is Old Market. Very easy to shop, eat and drink.

The room is spacious, nice, clean and with the comfort amenities. Our room, Bamboo, also has roof top living area.

They provided us with I-pad for use as well as a local phone to contact them or call locally … very nice touch indeed.

All the staff are warm and helpful … providing us with info about where to eat and what and where to go.

This is definitely a recommended hotel for couple or single travelers. We would stay here again for sure if we are back in Siem Reap again.

We're frequent visitors to Siem Reap and this is our preferred town lodgings. Why? Because it is extremely small and boutique; because its staff is warm and friendly and ever helpful; the rooms are very swish, stylish and ultra cool; and because it's situated in the heart of downtown action. Temples by day, party by night, and live live live. Rooms all have double glazing to stop excessive street noise. Best cotton sheets, and get ready to be pampered. GlobetrottingGourmet

Room Tip: The restaurant downstairs (separate management) is excellent, and boasts one of the city's best wine lists.

Everything about our trip to Siem Reap was a delightful surprise, nothing more than our room at the Hotel Be Angkor. Where else would we go from the front desk to our room by way of a quiet photo gallery and a bustling upscale restaurant? It's a very busy neighborhood with tons of restaurants and other businesses all around, but when we got to the room, silence! I loved that "getting away from it all" aspect. The room itself was more like a private bedroom suite in a private home than any other hotel room I've stayed in. The staff was always polite and attentive to a degree you can't get at a huge urban hotel. Hotel Be is unique, befitting a location like Siem Reap!
