It’s a awful experience in Siemreab.
First we ride almost 2 hours bike to here. It’s very far away from the down town.
The floating village’s ticket is very expensive!it have to cost 20 dollars.( but we found some people they help us to buy the 15 dollars ticket)
At first we feel very lucky we have cheap price to get into here.
But it’s totally wrong!
We take the boat around 20 min to the village area. But we are very far away from the floating house. We can see anything on the boat. And then they take us to one place and tell us we can go up there to see the sunset. But I think they just want to earn more money from us. Because that place is a restaurant. Any super unlucky that day also can’t see any sunset because lots of the clouds. And the tour guide also tell us many time for take small boat to the see more view inside the tree(charge 5dollars) and tell us buy something for the poor kids and school kids. At the end he also ask us to give him some tips.
It’s so suck! Before I take boat I inform them how long is the full tour time. They said around 2 hours. But actually it’s only 1 hours or less I think. We are feel very disappointed in this village.

You basically pay to visit a small village built on a smelly river. We were covering our eyes, nose and mouth throughout the tour. Nothing special, nothing fun either. Some hawkers are selling grilled fish at the so-called jetty but thinking where those fishes were from, we rather starve. Only visit IF you have nothing better to do or just too much time to kill.

We had a free afternoon on our 3 days in Siem Reap. We wanted to see a floating market but was told this was worth seeing. We had a tour guide for the time we were there so did not have to arrange for an extra tour guide etc. We paid $30 US per person for the half day but that included drinks and a couple of side tours. Based on other peoples reviews it is a good idea to pre-arrange the tours here and don't just rely on the tour guides at the site. We found it very interesting to stop to see the state of the houses and floating schools etc. The guide did have us stop on a floating store but he warned us that the owners would be out to try to sell us on over priced items or even try to get us to pay to take pictures with a large Boa Constrictor snake. He said we should not feel obligated to pay as they are getting a fee from the tour company of us to stop there for a drink. One interesting thing about our trip was that we had the boat sailor and a 7-10 year old boy accompany us. The boy was hired to help navigate the trip. When a plastic bag got caught up on our propeller he dove into the muddy water to get the bag off. We ended up tipping him a couple of dollars . He also sang songs, and tried to give us shoulder messages. It was very cute but our guide warned us he would be after our tips.

This is a must visit place in siem reap apart from angkor wat.. This village u will visit on the way to the tonle sap lake.. it come with the package.. book through hotel for safe site.. So the trip is about $10 per person..including transportation and boat and guide.. once at the village, u will take the boat through the floating village to the tonle sap lake. It's a beautiful place where u see people living along the river to the lake.. u get to see their lifestyle and all.. At a stop in the village u will stop by a mangroove area, where u add another $5 per person to get on a small boat for 2, u get ride around the mangrove area.. this was really awesome and don't miss it. It's a good spot, give it a go
