A stop off on the short circuit for Angkor Wat - not much to see here, stay around 15 mins. Pretty enough.

This is one of the smaller and lesser-known temples compared to the likes of Angkor Wat and Bayon. There is another similarly small temple just across the road from this one (i.e. Chau Say Tevoda), of which you can visit both temples in one stop.

Thommanon is a "minor " temple, so if you are in a hurry or here just for one day, you can skip this temple. The area is not very big and be covered in less than an hour during which you will be able to admire wonderful Apsara carvings very well conserved.

Thommanon is one of a pair of Hindu temples built during the reign of Suryavarman II at Angkor, Cambodia. This small and elegant temple is located east of the Gate of Victory of Angkor Thom and north of Chau Say Tevoda.

Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon are temples on either side of the main road. Thommanon temple is given as dedicated to Hindu prime Gods Shiva and Vishnu. Surprising part is that temple hall entrances are very high - with ground level raising all over the world that I have seen - still one need to climb tall stairs to reach the altar. Temple layout and structure reminds me of a temple in Porur Ramanathaeaswarar Temple in South India (has undergone modification in recent years) - original one being almost 1000 year old. Peaceful place - could spend some time with temples just as ruins or with no Moolavar now.

This temple is one of a pair. The other Chau Say Tevoda and this temple is in better condition.

It has some upper and lower pediments on both the West and East gates and the library that are worth taking some time to see.

The highlight is the central sanctuary which has two fabulous devatas, considered to be among the best in Angkor and inside is an absolutely beautiful lintel which can be difficult to find and see. Take some time to find it. There are also a couple of other lintels worth looking at but when you spot Vishnu standing on Garuda you have found it.

This is another lovely temple--- and nice to see if you have the time after the main events. We spent about 20 min here.

It's not as popular as the other temples so it's quiet and less crowded. It's easy to access as it has no steep stairs. While visiting we saw some beautiful carvings on the walls.
