Excellent place to stay. Good location for market and town, quiet, comfortable clean rooms. Good breakfasts and other meals. Roof top terrace and bar a bonus after busy days sight seeing. Very friendly helpful efficient staff (who gave sound advice about potential scams). Liked the ethos of the hotel. Already recommended to other travellers we met.

We had the pleasure of staying here over the long CNY with our two young girls (8 and 9 yo). Initially there a mix up on our airport pickup and we had to change rooms on arrival (previous guest did not return key on time for our original room). However the staff immediately addressed it by paying four our taxi to return to the airport on departure and getting us a bigger room for no additional charge. The location is great, within walking distance to restaurants, the old market and pub street. Yet it was quiet and peaceful despite the bustle of Siem Reap. We can't say enough about the staff - they were always helpful with arranging tours, recommending restaurants, helping with reservations. Everything was taken care of quickly, accurately and with a smile. Breakfast was great too. Our two girls are decent travelers and they really liked it here. Definitely recommended.

The Soria Moria was a fine place to stay. It has an excellent location, within a few minutes' walk to the night market and pub street (without being too near the noise). The breakfast is good, the staff is helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Perhaps most importantly, the hotel prides itself on its affiliation with the ChildSafe Project and a number of other charities and organizations benefited by responsible tourism. All significant attributes. My only complaint is that the hotel felt to be lacking "soul." The Norwegian roots are perhaps interpreted a bit too literally in that the decor is quite sparse. But more significantly, while everyone was polite, the atmosphere was not entirely warm.

This is a great hotel with friendly staff, great rooms and walking distance to the old market, night market, pub street etc. I was picked up at the airport in a tuk tuk which was great. The hotel offers sight seeing tours and has fair trade local goods for sale. The staff own shares in the hotel and the hotel is involved in training of local people. It's a feel good place to stay as well as being a very nice place to stay. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good and they have a range of specials for dinner (check out Wednesday $1 tapas). I will certainly stay at this hotel again if I return to Siem Reap for a holiday.

What a wonderful hotel.
They were very helpful switching a night for us when our schedule changed, have a comfortable roof bar, had free Apsara dancing in the restaurant, fantastic breakfast that comes w the room, a good location. They are conscientious about the impact they have on the country and support many local charities. Rooms were clean and had nice amenities.
Not perfect - don't expect a 5 star hotel: the AC was stuck on too cold and they didn't have any extra blankets. But that was a very small complaint in an otherwise perfect stay.

Pros:
- rooms are big and very well furnished (including safe-deposit box), with comfortable beds and big bathroom;
- the hotel restaurant serves good Khmer food (there is also a Skandi menu, which I did not have the chance to try);
- the staff is really friendly and helpful;
- money spent here really makes a difference, since the hotel is co-owned by the employees, and there is a wide choice of Fair Trade souvenirs available in the lobby;
- free tuk tuk pick-up at the airport:
- good breakfast assortment;
- located in a quiet part of the town.

Cons:
- a 10-15 mins walk from the restaurant and entertainment area surrounding Pub Street

We found everything to be perfect about this hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful, the rooms were very clean and well appointed, the food was great and the location was perfect to travel out to different attractions in the area. The one real shining star was one of their management staff Sokha. She was so amazingly patient and informative of things to do and the best way to do them. She gave us a tremendous personal attention with a brilliant smile every time. People like Sokha and others at the reception desk make all the difference in the world in the guests eyes. We highly recommend this hotel.
