absolutely loved this hotel...from the great location (5 min walk to pub street and old market; stone's throw away from great restaurants i.e. the square 24 and viroth's) down to the friendly and accommodating staff, stable wifi, clean and comfy rooms, awesome nightly deals on food and booze, very decent complimentary buffet breakfast, this is definitely a great value for your money. (i.e. if you're like us and not overly picky and looking for full hotel and spa services!)....would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Originally Scandinavian run, now co-owned by local staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. They support the local community with training programmes for street kids. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel was well located for tourist nightlife and restaurants. Food was good for Cambodia - great tapas meatballs! Rooftop bar for sunset was pleasant and good little plunge pool for cooling off. Good value too. We did have a massage here - consistent with our other experiences in SE Asia, we felt a little bit beaten up by the end...

After spending three nights at the Soria Moria I have to admit that I am impressed with the service quality, fusion food (Swedish meatballs after 10 days of Asian cuisine was surprisingly tasty), stabile WIFI (although Cambodia slow) and nice rooms.
They also had dedicated tuc-tuc drivers and multiple tour suggestions. Take-away breakfast for the sunrise at Angkor Wat was also a nice touch.

The 50$/night price may be high, but considering difference they make in the local community, it is well worth it. The hotel opened the new pool the same day I left.

The hotel is about 10min walk from pub street on the other side of the river.

Smaller hotel with good location. The staff is excellent, very helpful, although some are not as proficient in English as others, but this is part of the experience, no? Pleasant, clean rooms although we had some problems with our AC not functioning. It was looked at twice, but we then opted to change rooms and the AC was fine. Staff in reception very helpful with information and will assist with guides, tours and transportation. The restaurant served made to order omelettes, bread, yoghurt, fruit, musli, all was good. Otherwise food was very good for both lunch and dinner. Hotel started by Norwegian couple, they have trained local staff which now own shares in the hotel which will be owned by the staff eventually. All in all a very pleasant stay. Our children remained home, otherwise would have opted for hotel with pool.

Room Tip: Room 105 faces the street and can be noisy.

My daughter and I stayed here in October. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Pub Street and the nearby shopping streets.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They organized a guide and Tuk Tuk to visit Angkor Wat and both were very good. The rooftop bar was a nice place to see a view over Siem Reap and enjoy a drink and snack at the end of a hot day! we would stay again.

The Soria Moria is one of the nicest, friendliest hotels I have stayed in so far in S.E. Asia. Not only is it a comfortable, clean and conveniently located, it supports the local community and they offer good, solid advice on how to be a responsible tourist. They have a good restaurant and roof-top bar. The staff go out of their way to help and are genuinely caring. It is the sort of place one could settle down in for a long period of time and become "part of the family". I highly recommend this. I am sad to leave. Christina, Oslo, Norway.

Location:
Nice location, not too far from the tourist areas. Also within walking distance of Pub street. It is on one of the main city roads, so it may get a little noisy in the morning.

Room:
We booked the room with three single beds, and it was incredibly spacious. The bathroom was very modern as well. The quality of the room far exceeded my expectations.

Service:
The staff is very friendly. Complementary breakfast downstairs, and a free drink upon arrival on the rooftop bar. We also took advantage of room service one night, which was nice after a long day of walking.
