Chobe Bush Lodge (CBL) is the sister lodge of Chobe Safari Lodge (CSL). CSL is located on the edge of the Chobe River, with CBL a little further back. CBL is a relatively new lodge in Kasane, and was certainly much quieter than CSL. As they are sister lodges, you are more than welcome to go and make use of the amenities at CSL. While we were there we managed to squeeze in a massage as well as a couple hours of fishing on the river. CSL's restaurant is all old school buffets which looked very impressive, while CBL had an a la carte restaurant. Dinner at CBL was wonderful, but if you are there for a couple nights, it is worth exploring some of the restaurants in town, as the menu does not have a huge number of options. THere is WIFI available in the lounge of the hotel, but during the three days we spent there, I managed to connect probably only once - very unreliable. The rooms are quite comfortable, but ours was missing one or two touches that would of really made it perfect - as well as stinking of bat guano. All in all, an awesome location right at the gate to Chobe, but unfortunately a little let down.

We stayed for 2 nights in April and were on package which meant we had one game drive (morning or afternoon) and one boat cruise (afternoon) included in our stay and if we wished to do any extra we had to pay, and we did decide to do an extra game drive as we really wanted to see some animals, and what a great choice we made doing that. Two of the best game drives I have ever been on in my life and I have been in a few, we almost constantly saw animals of some sort, so many elephants and having been in Zimbabwe before hand where unfortunately most of the wildlife is eaten so we didn't see much at all this was amazing as this was exactly why we came to Botswana out first time) We saw a huge variety of animals, leopards, lions(with Cubs) elephants(and baby's) baboons, all kinds of beautiful birds, Buck, Impala, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, kudu and more. Of course game viewing Is obviously always variable and one game drive is never the same so it depends on weather time of year and luck I guess but in Chobe you have one of the best chances of seeing lots of animals. The guide was great and knowledgeable too.
Staff were all helpful, attentive and friendly, the rooms were luxury, spotlessly clean, spacious and had a luxury bathroom and very comfortable bed. (Complete with mosquito net) and also each room had a balcony. Food was good, although being vegetarian there was not a huge about to choose from although that seems to be the case in Africa in most places. But the this lodge is a 'over flow/extension' (and more modern version) of the Chobe Safari lodge which is just literally over the road and easy to walk to so guests are allowed to go into the safari lodge as well and also if you wish to have a buffet dinner you can go there. This also explains the sometimes quiteness around the lodge. Overall a very nice place, nice pool too. I definitely reccomend it.
NOTE: There is wifi but not in-room.

I stayed in what could be called the "overflow" part of the hotel. At first I though it would be alright but the rooms were fantastic. They were like rooms in high rated hotels. But unfortunately the restaurant slightly lowers the standards as there was not much of a choice for any vegetarians. But I did enjoy my stay.

We staid for 2 nights and enjoyed the facilities at the lodge. Good food and attentive staff. It was quiet and peaceful and the swimming pool not crowded. We preferred it to the Chobe Safari lodge where we had lunch. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable.

I stayed here in December. There were probably no more than a dozen guests there so the lodge had a sense of desolation. Th food was average. The rooms though were big and spacious and my bed was very confortable. I do not understand though why house keeping does turn down at 330 in the afternoon in the middle of siesta time? I loved the pool which was sparkling and clean. The hotel still needs time to 'bed down' as the proposed waterholes have not yet been put in so the views are a little bare. Service is good.
