The room we had was lovely with large lounge/kitchen area, separate bedroom and large bathroom and a balcony looking out on to the river, all very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we didn't have electricity or water for most of our stay, this is Africa and these things happen but there was no communication from the management as to what the situation was for the duration of the stay (3 days). The staff in the hotel have to be the most rude and disinterested bunch I have ever come across working in a hotel and unfortunately did not make for an enjoyable stay, which is a shame because the hotel itself is lovely. We had an all inclusive rate including the buffet meals, the food was also very disappointing.

We enjoyed Chobe Marina Lodge. Our room was huge, with a kitchen area, dining area, living room, bedroom and large bathroom. This is more like a hotel than a lodge and it is in a town, not in the bush ,but it is very close to Chobe Park by vehicle for game drives and they also offer on site river cruises where we saw lots of elephant, hippos, lechwe, crocodiles among others. The food was good, the restaurant upstairs is very nice. I would recommend the side trip to Namibia to visit the village, but only if you really like to walk. They told us, me and my 81 year old mother, that it was only a bit of walking and it turned out to be miles, I did enjoy seeing the village and its people, though.

The Chobe Marina Lodge is a real jewel. Stayed for two nights, but wish we had booked for longer. The evening cruises and game drives were awesome. I don't know how you could see more wildlife. On the early morning drive we saw two lions hunting impala and on the evening drive we were lucky enough to see a leopard hunting warthogs. Lets not forget the hundreds of elephants, hippo's, giraffes, crocs, impala's, warthogs, etc. An amazing place. Food was great and the staff fantastic.

My 78 year old mom and I stayed 2 nights at CML as part of an Elderhostel tour. We enjoyed it very much. The suite was roomy, airy and convenient, with a fridge, TV, comfy beds, and a large and pretty bathroom. The public areas were welcoming and beautiful with wood floors and an infinity horizon pool. It's right on the Chobe River, and you look across to Namibia. The food was fine, plenty of variety and plenty of it, well-prepared. English in approach, with full English breakfast. The butternut squash soup was fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service at dinner was not terribly fast, but as we were a 14 person group, it was competent. We enjoyed the game BBQ also. We went on 4 game drives from the Lodge to Chobe, and saw our lion kill the first morning.

We were supposed to be picked at by Chobe Marina Lodge at the airport. When we called they said they didn't have our reservation. All other places our agent booked for us were all over us, so it isn't the agent. They came to get us and persisted in saying they didn't have our names. They found a clipboard with all our information on the back counter after 30 minutes of looking. They got all the room information confused. We arrived in time for the afternoon activity, which they dragged their feet in offering to us. Then there was all the paperwork involved with any activity you selected!!!!!!!. This is one place that really need some computer assistance!!. The staff at the front desk was usually unable to answer any questions you had. I do think there must have been some language barriers. The food was just OK. Nothing special and overpriced. Service was VERY slow in the dining room. You had better be tired in the evening as there is nothing to do in the hotel. The computer was down often, so you couldn't use the internet. The game drives in the morning were chaotic to get loaded and off, running out of clean coffee cups, no hot water for tea, lots of people who don't know where they are supposed to be and no one to help them. You would think that they would have the system down to a science after how many hundreds of drives! Again, working off pieces of paper and pen marks. AND God forbid, you didn't have your hand written invoices!! Ideally, when we checked in, we should have been handed a packet with tickets for all the activities we had already paid for, transfers, meals and an introduction to the hotel. The property is nice enough, but just so unorganized and the staff so untrained. Really need new and current management. Chobe is a great place to see animals and the guides were all great. Next time I would select somewhere else to stay.

Stayed at the hotel in a bungalow with my parents, wife and child.

The hotel grounds where very nice and the treehouse layout is great.

The accomodations and rooms where amazying and as it was my wife's first visit to Africa, she found the experience very relaxing and vacation like.

The food was not the best and was overpriced. Suggestion is that you go into town and visit the local grocery store and buy supplies to enjoy as the bungalos offer up a microwave and fridge.

We had a quiet lunch and snacks on the backporch which was almost completely private.

My daughter loved the pool and the relaxing easy going but quiet atmospehe.

I stayed here for two nights with my new husband! It is a nice looking structure but a bit dated and old, I felt it really needed a face lift. Our room was dull and drap. One night, Two days would be loads as there are only 2 activitys to do - jeep safari and boat safari. the dining area was a bit dirty, it needed a good cleaning or a total face lift. the staff were lazy and slow to do anything. at breakfast the fruit bowls had many wasps in them and buzzing around the food, I said it to the chef but nothing was done. In the evening there is nothing to do as there is no in house music or band, the bar is dead and Kasane itself is a kip, you wouldnt venture out into the village. this was the last leg of our honeymoon and it was dispointing. Although the safari both jeep and boat were very good, where we got to see all animals except the rhino...we have some wonderful photos of the animals but I wont be back EVER to stay in Chobe Marina Lodge.
