The rooms are, as others have commented, a little tired and they have those useless eco bulbs which are supposed to give the same amount of light as regular bulbs but use a lot less electricity. Except they don't give anything like as much light.
The check-in was, however, efficient and the on-site excursion booking office was excellent. We managed to book a late river game-viewing trip which proved to be superb. Elephants swimming in the water. Great stuff. They really are incredibly well geared up to the point where you can rent top-end cameras and just slip your own SD card in to take those close-up pictures of a lifetime. No, we didn't. But you can and perhaps should.
Also took an all-day game drive which was terrific value but I am now officially sick of looking at elephants. The first one or two is exciting . Even the first 100 or so. But there were literally thousands of them. And buffalo. And giraffes. The places is teeming with big game.
Even driving from Chobe down to Maun (outside the park) there are elephants crossing the road for the first 50 miles or so.
Having travelled and worked in Africa for years and been to half a dozen game parks including Kruger and Etosha on this trip alone I must say I have never seen such a concentration of wildlife. If you only go to one game park in your life then make it Chobe and, in case it was due to the time of year then go in August.
The food was good too and the restaurant location beside the river is idyllic.
