This would have been a great spot when it first opened, but the rooms were old, the carpet and bedding were worn, the shower slippery and the doors to the balcony not that secure. The food in the buffet was poor and repetitive over the two nights we were there. The only advantage is its location and service of the staff.

This was certainly inferior to the other lodge we stayed at (Muchenche) , however it represented good value. The comunal area of the lodge was very pleasent and the rooms were perfectly adequate. The downside is that they do get large tour groups coming through.

if you have to find somewhere yo have to save some money on your African holiday, this lodge is certainly an option. It is actuallly nicer that what some of the internet photos make out. You will not feel you are in a down market hotel.

What a great time we had at the Chobe Game Lodge, Johan and his staff were like one big family. Our time there was very special, the food, rooms and general attitude was excellent.
The game drives were also prefect we must have seen nearly every animal possible, the drivers just knew the right place to be.Many thanks to all, we would recommend to all.

We had driven for several hours through clouds of dust and elephant dung to come to this wonderful oasis. After booking in and finding our room, a round house at the rivers edge with signs outside telling us to watch out for crocodiles and hippo's. There were other animals in the grounds Monkeys everywhere and a very large family of Banded Mongoose that seemed to live somewhere near the kitchen. The buffet meals were excellent and had meats such as warthog and impala which you have to try. The evening meal was taken to a chorus of several Gutteral Toads that live in a nearby pond. As we had been out camping in the bush the soft bed was very welcoming as were all the facilities in our room. Chobe Safari Lodge is a place we can recommend!

Myself and my colleque spent two days in this hotel, but we will never book accomodation there, come what may. There is one guy with a bald head like me at the reception who cannot help people with love, instead he chooses who to help. to cut the long story short, when we checked in, they concentrated on people coming in groups and after staying at the counter for about 45mins, we were attended and given the keys for the rooms, we had to ask where the rooms are but they responded that the rooms are labeled just go and find them, ok fine. most of the time when we were waiting for help, the groups that came were greated, given a welcome drink, lectured about activities offered and what they will find int the rooms where excatly their rooms were. Dat never happened to us. imagine it was dark and we had to move from room to room to find ours. After two days we had to leave and there was prior arrangement that some one was taking care of our expenses and thats why we could not pay on arrival and that was confirmed with Unik company which was taking care of the expenses. After calling the company to go and pay while we had to go, the guy at the reception refused to let us go. They had numbers of who was going to pay and they called the guy who told them he was on his way to this hotel to pay but they refused to let us go. We missed a flight to Gaborone that day and incured other expenses, Since then i never book for accomodation at Chobe Safari Lodge, If you want to see for yourself come on pick season. Go to other hotels in Chobe if you dont want dissapointment.

Room Tip: chalets have Tv's placed very high and you can break yur neck.

We stayed a week as part of a package which was really a day or two too long for the area. The options for boat trips and game drives are limited. Thus after two or three you start to repeat yourself.

The Hotel itself was good with plenty of excellent food and better than average as a package hotel. The grounds ran along the river with good views of wildlife and birds. Watching the sun go down in the bar at the far end of the site with a cold drink in your hand and a pied kingfisher fishing in front of you was a memory I'll never forget. In the Shopping Centre just outside the Hotel Entrance there is an excellent supermarket for snacks and drinks.

On the downside the pool is small and in the crowded middle of the site. Furthermore there is nowhere to walk outside the grounds which becomes restrictive after a while. A riverside walk into the centre of Kisane would be a great option, rather than walking up the main road.

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights.....our kids are 12 & 9. The rooms were nice and clean, the only issue I had was that the kids room (which contained bunk beds) were located in a tiny hot room at the back of the main room. It was terribly hot and stuffy so we actually took the matresses from the bunks and put them on the floor of the main room.

There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Wifi was not free (only about $1.80 for 15 mins) and could only be used in the reception area.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant & meals were fantastic. A huge choice which easily satisfied a family with youngish children. We got a big bag of washing done for about $10aud which was reasonable.

I would certainly stay here again - but would get 2 separate rooms.
