Meh, is the best way to describe it. A couple things, 1. it has a pool, but its not a resort style pool or anything that invites you to dip in. 2. They are constructing a nice new tower, so its noisy during weekdays 3. the staff is a little pretentious, its not that they are rude, they are just a little snappy, and bolivians are super nice, so it just puts you off. 3. Its located behind the best avenue in santa cruz, so some rooms are a bit noisy during weekends, but several restaurants are walking distance.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are comfy.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room AWAY from the construction, pref not facing the pool but the front of th...

The room was fairly modern with a good air con. system. The hotel is well located for restaurants and coffee shops but it is quite a long walk to the main square. We had breakfast and an evening meal in the restaurant, both were fine. There is an area with free internet which was very good. There is a big building project adjacent to the hotel but perhaps we were lucky, but we weren't disturbed by any noise.

The place is average, free shuttle (but not for late flights, in this case it's overpriced), swiminpool useless with the construction of a new building. Because of the construction the area is noisy (try to know if you will be impacted).
Rooms are alright a bit old fashionable, try to ask rooms on the garden not on the street.
The breakfast is under average.

Hotel Cortez is a nice hotel. My problem was with the noise. They are adding a whole new building that dwarfs the current hotel. The noise lasts all day till 6:30 pm. You will hear the pounding of hammers and sawing from most all rooms of the hotel for some months to come, since this is a big project. Perhaps front rooms are exempt from this noise, but they must contend with the street noise of the Ring Road.

Me and my boyfriend have been travelling around Bolivia for a couple of weeks and we stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Prices are reasonable, food is good and location is great. They have a shuttle service for the airport and free internet.

In a city like Santa Cruz, this is one of the best hotels you can find. Just make sure your room does not face the street since it's quite noisy all day. Beds are modest and a bit uncomfortable but the price is right and the other services of the hotel work fine. Restaurant is very good, internet also. Location is good: walk oe block and you're in a trndy area full of bars, coffees and restaurants; walk 2 blocks and you're in busy noisy downtown.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a quiet room, far from the stree

We stayed at the Hotel Cortez on a Mission Awareness Trip. It is a beautiful hotel with a nice pool and restaurant, Internet suite of 4 computers, air conditioning, and excellent staff. The air conditioner does not stay on when you leave the room, so you come back to a hot and muggy room, but at least there is air conditioning for night time. The staff is excellent and they have a money exchange service and gift store. When I was in the tiny gift store, the clerk stood right next to me, a few inches away, no matter where I stood, as if I were going to steal something. I found this annoying and ended up not shopping there. The food is good, the eggs and juices are delicious. The lobby and outside pool area is gorgeous.
