This place is great. Hosts Nicole and Manuel are fabulous. The moment you arrive it feels like you have come to visit your best friends. You feel so at home. The collection of antiques are amazing and Nicole & Manuel are always happy to explain them to you. The patio style is great because there are all these little corners and courtyards with tables in them. You can have breakfast or dinner in any spot. Speaking of breakfast and dinner - these are amazing! The aircon is great, but we turned it off later in the night because the room stayed cool - and quiet! What a place to sleep. Oh I wish our place was that quiet. Easy to get a taxi to and from and they will help you out with places to visit or where to take care if you don't know the city. I can't recommend it enough and we will be back in a few months.

Room Tip: There are different size rooms so you could ask for bigger if you want it. But we were in the smalle...

Our experience at Casa Patio was beyond our expectations.
The staff not only made us feel like family, but they did much more than expected for any hotel.
From laundry, dinner, wine tastings and sane and fun conversation it was all great!

Nicole, Manuel and the rest of the staff made sure that every little detail was perfect. This is something that you do not find easily in Santa Cruz

The decor was fun, eclectic and chic. The rooms offer books, antiques and curiocities that relax your mind and sight.

I recommend this hotel to everyone going to Santa Cruz as by far guarantee that this is The BEST hotel all across the board in the city

Gracias casa patio!!!!!!

We booked an amazing boutique hotel "Casa Patio" which is located in Las Palmas, which is by far the Bourgeois side of town. Our fabulous hosts "Nicole y Manuel" converted their fabulous estate into a super cool bed & breakfast. The property consists of several little carriage houses surrounding the main house where the owners reside on the 2nd level, all of the cute mini homes have been personally hand-decorated and serve as the guest suites to the hotel boutique. Casa Patio has undeniable SOUL! There were several little nooks amongst the grounds designed for gathering, dining, reading, relaxing, etc. Our lofted mini brick carriage house was located across the beautifully landscaped courtyard placed behind the main house named "Sol y Luna" (sun & moon). Each suite has it's very own thoughtful name. The style & design by the hands of the owners represents mad love, cool antiques & original art. The ambiance is absolutely fantastic and for anyone who knows me, knows that, for me: atmosphere is everything.. We really scored with this inexpensive luxurious location which was absolutely full of character.

Upon arrival to Casa Patio, the neighborhood was very upscale in caparison to the rural route we rode in transit from the airport, with each & every Estate hosting an incredible individual style. Some were super modern "Miami Style", others were traditional, and ours was a style all its own with a terracotta roof, brick & stucco walls, our space was truly my favorite! We arrived at Casa Patio, buzzed the bell and Manuel warmly welcomed us with a homemade lemonade (delicioso) and we instantly felt like we were home with la familia. Our hosts spoke fluent English and were always on point for suggesting the perfect spots around town for us to check out.

Casa Patio served a "5 star Valentines Day" dinner. The hotel also opens for dining with reservation for non-hotel guests also. So on the day of love they had guests staying from all over the world as well as locals in love, coming to have a romantic night out in Las Palmas. The vibe at Casa Patio is nothing short of 5 star, in fact much, much more.. We had the most amazing dinner, opened a couple of bottles of wine, and spent the night with awesome company conversing, laughing, learning and sharing stories..

Great B&B experience! We stayed in the "Hippie Chic" cabin 4 days in Feb 2012 ... It was an excellent choice for us- safe, private, clean, quiet and a good value for your $. The previous reviews are correct and "say it all" by representing the property and all the services correctly. The property does have an eclectic ,"funky", fun and unique feel. Nicole and Manuel help make that happen and really go all out to make your stay as comfortable as possible with personal service. Highly recommend Casa Patio Boutique if you are visiting in Santa Cruz.

CasaPatio was an overwhelming success.

After the long trek from New York City to Santa Cruz, I wanted a relaxing place to stay before embarking on a fast-paced trip around the country. Casa Patio turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences I have had anywhere. I was set to arrive very early in the morning and Nicole, the proprietor, arranged for a taxi to pick me up at the airport. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by Nicole who had waited up to make sure that I arrived safely (at 4AM).

The accommodations were excellent. Each room/suite is very tastefully done, clean and eclectic. Each has a distinctive bohemian style that is reflective of the owners diverse interests. The hotel has all the authenticity, details and texture you would want out of a boutique experience while maintaining a very high level of service. The rooms were organized and cleaned while we were out during the day. There is ample air conditioning and a delightfully clean bathroom where you can find Nicole's homemade soap and shampoo. The grounds themselves are beautifully managed and tranquil.

Breakfast was impeccably presented by Nicole who is an exceptional cook and enjoys the nuance of creating a charming experience for her customers. She prepared a delicious dinner of langoustines and potatoes cooked in tomato sauce accompanied by imported French wine.

The best part of our stay were our hosts, Nicole and Manuel, who have an incredible energy. They made us feel like old friends and helped us plan out the less developed parts of our trip.

Our experience was so wonderful we made sure to return to say goodbye and spend one last night at the gorgeous CasaPatio.

5 out of 5 - Perfect. CasaPatio is an absolute must."

My friend stumbled across this place whilst on a brief stop-over in Santa Cruz and found it so nice that we had to come back.

The hotel is laid out in a colonial style with a gorgeous enclosed patio at the back surrounded by luscious vegetation. The rooms are pleasant and relaxing, each with air-conditioning. There is an assortment of trinkets scattered throughout. The collection of antique candleholders, statues and old weathered books will keep you rummaging around for hours. But what really made this a great place to stay were the hosts; Nicole and Manuel. They really did go above and beyond to make sure that you did not want for anything during your stay.

Nicole’s homemade soaps, shampoo, chocolates, yoghurt etc were all outstanding. The cooking was amazing, the wine selection immense. Even the young daughter chips in, selling her homemade jewellery on a stand in the courtyard.

The atmosphere created by this family makes you feel like you have been invited into their home rather than into a hotel. They really do make you feel welcome. By far the best hotel I have stayed in, and not just in Bolivia.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
CASA PATIO Boutique Hotel is an amazing experience. We are a "petit" hotel, with an environment full of elegance and simplicity. The hotel provides a great collection of antiques, colonial doors and furniture, vintages pieces, hand skilled bricks, a funky touch, crockery and silverware from the beginnings of the 20th Century, pictures of some of the signatures of great artists, and finally, more than anything the patio and its magic. In this atmosphere, Nicole and Manuel open their doors with the philosophy of the host who opens his house and set up his table for the visitors. There is an open kitchen for everyone who wants to cook, also a wine cellar and cups, a hammock under the wonderful shadows of the avocodo tree, and well, may the guest always be the best that happens to the house.CASA PATIO is located in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, at some steps near the golf fields of the "Las Palmas" Country Club, the FEXPOCRUZ International Entertainment and Business Fair, the Tennis Club, the Equestrian Club and finally at twelve minutes from downtown. ... more   less
