I am quite shocked at all of the negative reviews about this place. First off, I only payed $10 for an enormous room with everything I needed, great shower, comfortable bed, and a great view to the lake. The owners were quite helpful and nice. I did notice that they were not around the reception at times because they were off cleaning and finishing some construction work. It can see that it is very low season here in Copacabana at the moment and that there are not a lot of tourists. Certainly for the price and quality I thought it was a bargain and would definitely go back!

Room Tip: Choose one of the rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floors as they seem to have a better view to the lake.

Room- we booked a private ensuite which was very cheap. The room was clean, spacious and warm. The bed was comfy and there was a tv and wifi. The showers also had hot water.
Food- got a knock on the door at 8am and it was the owner with our breakfast..scrambled, egg, bread, yoghurt and smoothie. It was a great start to the day!
Hostel- A bit run down, but we had an incredible view on the second floor. If they were to refurbish and maintain it, it could be a great hostel.
Staff- There was none! A young child appeared after we waited for 20 minutes to get in. She didn't understand us but we managed to figure out where we were staying. They obviously don't have guests very often!
Location- Right on the lake front with a great view. 15 min walk from the bus station.
Copacabana- Hike the hill beside the hostel for an incredible view of Lake Titicaca.

So having the upstairs room has an unbeatable view and a terrace to bask in the sun but it really shows that somehow these people got enough money to build this place but not really enough to maintain it or be wise enough to treat guests nicely. It's a shame in reality because had the service been good, it would be the hotel to beat in hippie Copacabana. We were greeted by two children at reception who couldn't really answer our questions. They also tend to roam around and leave the reception area so there were times when we needed something but couldn't find them. One time the water was super cold and I had to get out of the shower to go and let them know. Afterwards I couldn't find them and had to wait till one of them appeared. Once I told them they went to change the gas or whatever they did up there but it was like, somebody had to tell them in order for them to switch on the heating. If nobody spoke up, everyone would have ended up taking a freezing shower. The other thing is the wi-fi. As other reviewers posted, it is true that you can only use internet in the breakfast area and when they have enough they switch it off. All in all, it's ok for one to two nights and if you're not bothered about dated rooms and steel door showers but I think there may be better places.

The only positive things here were price and location, our room had a nice view overlooking Lake Titicaca and it is right next to the marina providing easy access for those early morning boat trips.
Now for the negatives, the room had no Internet connection as advertised, my wife had to go downstairs and sit in the hall as the common room was closed, there was a plastic cup and some trash left in the corner, the shower door was steel and had rusted in place about half way open, the bathroom did not look clean at all, there was a lot of dust and a used Q-tip on top of the armoire, cob webs hanging from the ceiling, overall the room did not look clean or well maintained and when we asked to have our room switched to another with internet reception, as we needed the connection for our business, we were told that the internet is not for business and there was nothing they could do (despite the fact the property was almost empty). We then asked for our money back and we would go find another place to stay and were told all cancellations must be done on line.

Room Tip: Find somplace else.

Hmmm, this was a really poor choice of lodging in Copacabana. The staff are not very polite or helpful, the room is old, worn, torn, and ugly. The bathroom stinks of sewer. Breakfast starts at 07:30, so if you´re on an early bus or tour, you miss it. In addition, they charge more than better hostals in the center. The shower had abudant hot water though, so showering was nice, as long as I could bear the stink of sewer.

Room Tip: I don´t think there are any good rooms here...

The owner is really nice and the view breathtaking but that do not make all the thing.
Fist we kept on looking for the owner, to check-in, to check-out, to pay, to have breakfast... Please install a ring !!!
Second, room are getting old and finishes unsatisfactory (wires going out of the wall, paint mark everywhere) and REALLY DUSTY !!! Rooms are definitely not cleaned after checkout. There were even blood spot on bed.
Third, it is expensive for such a poor quality (172bolivianos for a double room).
Stay away....

Well lets start with the fact that it was 10 dollars a night per person for the 3 of us in a triple room. We each had a double bed and the room was large, we were told it had wifi and that breakfast was included. Amazing location right on the water front along from the main street, nice views. Nice fluffy thick towels.
THIS IS WHERE THE POSITIVES END!
So for starters the room is filled with damp, mold on the walls, and is freezing, windows don't close properly and the curtains don't close and are half hanging off...stained and old, there is paint peeling off the walls, the room is dirty, never had a hoover if ya ask me. The bed is saggy and creaky and feels like it may collapse at any moment, the sheets are stained with blood or some sort of dark substance...grose! We asked for a heater and out came a gas bottle with a near naked flame attached to the end...VERY dangerous! The breakfast was stale bread, a juice, coffee or tea and a spoon full of yogurt...pitiful and disappointing! With the wifi...on the morning we asked what time the internet was going to come on...she told us 11am, so ok we can wait, no problems. So 11am we log on and half way though a skype conversation with my family the connection died...i asked the women in charge what happened, she told me 'you've been on long enough, if you want more time you will have to pay for it!' erm...excuse me? she was rude and unsympathetic. The morning we were checking out to get the boat to Isla Del Sol, we went downstairs for breakfast and ask if we could leave our bags for the night...the whole thing was closed, not a sole in sight...this was at 8am, our boat was at 830...baring in mind the breakfast is supposed to be from 730 till 930! SO we had to cart our bags to another hostel down the road and pay for them to keep them. When the owners at this hostel asked where we had been staying and we told them, they said that everyone calls it 'The Flinstone Hotel'...nice!
Pretty much id advise for ya to pay extra and stay somewhere hassle free and decent..not here!
