Stayed here for 2 nights and I don´t think we could have picked a better hotel in Copacabana. We chose it based on the reviews here and they were absolutely right. The place is a gem. Located just a 5 min walk from the centre on a peaceful street we had a room with a view (which didn´t cost more than a standard room). We were suprised with a shuttle bus to pick us up from the bus - we hadn´t even requested it! The same bus also took us back to the bus stop on departure (the hotel is up a hill so this is a great help).

The room was spacious, had plenty of blankets and a good shower. They supply free fruit, popcorn, sweets and coco tea in the common area which was a nice touch. The breakfast was amazing! Consisted of eggs, rolls, cereal, yoghurt, pancakes and fruit - WOW!

We are a couple in our mid thirties but would recommend this to any age of traveller looking for a peaceful, relaxing hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the lake - it didn´t cost any extra.

we had a large room on second floor overlooking the lake. the bed was very cosy & comfortable & the room was cleaned daily.

breakfast included lots of little bits, including a fresh pancake, and choice of egg.

the hotel provide free water, coco tea, sweeties, bananas & popcorn throughout the day.

the staff were all very helpful & offer a free shuttle from bus drop off point up to the hotel. it's only a 10 min (uphill) walk.

will book tours & buses if required - but charge 5bol more than some of the agencies in town.

our only criticism was that our room was under the staff quarters which meant a lot of noise from 0645 when staff were getting up.

a great hotel!

Hotel Utama was recommended to us by some friends and im glad we took their advice. Its a great value for money. Our room was on the top floor. It was big and clean, It even had a sofa and free bottle of water. The bed is laden with big heavy blankets to help combat the cold (and it is freezing in copa!). The shower always had hot water, towels provided and soap in the bathroom. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. They let us leave our bags whilst we stayed on isla del sol. The breakfast is definitely the best ive had in s.america. Not only the usual bread, jam, tea and eggs but pancakes, yogurt and cereal too!! There is also free bananas, sweets, popcorn, mate tea and water in the lounge all day which was a nice bonus.

Only downside is that the hotel is up a bit of a hill (just 2 blocks from the main street but its very steep!) which is a tough climb given the altitude. Im glad to see i wasnt the only one coming through the door huffing and puffing!! Also if you are on a budget im sure there are cheaper places to stay in Copa, for at least half the price, but if you are looking for a nice reliable, friendly, good quality hotel then this is it.

p.s. few tips - dont buy your boat tickets to isla del sol from the hotel, they wanted to charge 30 which is too much. you will get cheaper in the town. Also they have a minibus that can drop u to the center (only 2 blocks but if raining or you have lots of bag will be helpful) but please note its not a free drop off, you have to pay for it. We just got in thinking it was free!!

Lots of things about this hotel are great: the breakfast is very good, the rooms are lovely and colourful, the free coca tea, bananas and sweets are a nice plus and the views over the bay are nice. The location is a little away from the ba but not a long walk. However, if you organise a tour through them, make sure you get the tickets there are reception - they just told us it was fine and gave us nothing, which we had to sort out when we arrived at the boat. Overall though, that is a minor thing and I would recommend staying here.

Good breakfast, good sleep, decent room with private bathroom. There were few ants in the toilet.
Free fruit and coca tea is provided in the lobby for hotel guest. They charge money for internet use which is quite extraordinary, in addition they charge double of the price charged in internet cafes in the center. In fact, this is the only place i paid money for internet use among dozens of places i have been in South America. Location is close to center but it is unpleasant for a solo lady traveler to return back to the hotel after dark. There is quite steep road in the way back from the center to the hotel, which makes it hard to breath in 4000m altitude and walk quickly for sooner arrival. In general, it is good value for money.

Stayed 2 nights at $20 per night. One night in room with double bed and sofa (104) and the other in a twin (111). Double definitely the pick but both beds comfy and had a good warm sleep. Electric shower was hot if not a little fiddly and overall hard to fault for the price. Staff helpful and coped ok with my lack of Spanish. Arranged tickets to Isla De Sol and La Paz without fuss but probably a little more pricey than off the street. Check out 10.30am. Huge lobby sitting area on ground floor with free coco tea and bananas. Wifi dodgy but I think reflective of the town. Shut off at 10pm when reception closed (noticed that La Capula had similar arrangement). Breakfast included buns, jam, yogurt, cafe, eggs, fruit salad, pancake and very filling. Pick up from the bus station. Located up a hill which can be a struggle in the altitude or you can take a longer route which isn't quite as challenging. Basic Roof top area to view the sunset. Good solid option in Coco and if you are trying to decide between here and Puno then Coco wins hands down with a lot more character.

Stayed here for a night because Cupula for full. Paid 140 Bs for a single with private bathroom. Breakfast was the biggest I've had in SA and pretty good too. Wifi was pretty bad and didn't work well on 3rd floor but no big deal. Free bananas and mate on the first floor which was nice. Quick walk up to Cerro too. Would have been a 3 if not for sweet free breakfast.

Remember with electric showers that they get warmer with less pressure!
