The Glynn House Inn is a 3 story buidling that is listed on the historical register. The house is extremly well done and the rooms are very nice--I would consider this an upscale B&b.
The inn is located in town in Ashland, NH. The location OK but I would not just spend time in the B&b. The food was GREAT! The inn keepers-Glenn and Pam were very nice and helpful.

The new owners Pam,Glenn & Ingrid could not have done any more to make our stay of 3 nights any better. We have been to many countries in Europeand in the Far East plus most cities in the US and this rates in our top 5 for accommodation and friendliness.
We stayred in the Adams suite and every made it a luxury (even romantic )stay.......and we 've married 34 years!
The two buildings compliment each other and every extra(which you would pay for in many places) was there.........tea in the afternoon....cold drinks.....a wake up tea or coffee outside our room on the dot each morning.
Great advice from Glenn & Pam on where to visit and eat.......with the very good Common Man restaurant a short 5 minute walk away....so much so we went there evry night which is most unusual for us....but the menu made that possible,
When you get a top class bed.....a whirlpool bath...seperate luxury shower......with classy furniture then you have the makings of a great stay.
Finally the highlight was the breakfast that varied each day setting us for an ideal location to visit the lakes. Trust us...these new owners have a success on their hands and you should share it.

For those of you who are like me, and went on tripadvisor to find a good place to stay, I was sorely disappointed in the way that management at this inn conducts business. My boyfriend and I were supposed to stay at this B&B on july 4th weekend for two nights, but had to cancel two days before our stay due to unforeseen circumstances.
The inn charged us for BOTH nights stay, and when I had asked them to send us receipts, they had told us that we could reschedule within 6 months. When we called them back two weeks later (the receipts did not arrive), we wanted to reschedule. They then went on to tell us that we could NOT reschedule because we did not tell them that in advance. So the entire amount that we paid was a sunk cost. This is an absurd policy. We asked them why we couldn't reschedule when they told us in advance that we could. They said that they were entirely booked. Not only was Ingrid, the lady we spoke with, rude but she was extremely impatient. To me, this is a horrible way to conduct business. We were told something one week, and then relayed a different message a few weeks later.
Judging by how rude the lady was on the phone, I can't imagine this place being a comfortable, friendly and relaxing place. We've stayed at multiple B&Bs in the past and have never felt completely swindled. If we had booked for 5 nights, we would have been charged for all 5 nights, without the ability to reschedule. This is unfair to the customer and an unwise business practice. We were looking forward to staying at this beautiful inn and recommending it to other people. Unfortunately, we didn't find it to be a good experience even before we got there. We just don't want this to happen to others. Please be careful when booking at this inn....

We were not so impressed with our first stay at the Glynn House in July 2005. Not that the accomodations weren't enjoyable but we had a rather unpleasant exchange with Gaye, the former owner- she sharply scolded us in front of the other breakfast diners for borrowing a plate from the kitchen. Not such an offence one would imagine but it clearly indicated that customer service was not her strong suit.
We bravely decided to try it again this year and were surprised to find new owners who turned out to be professional, friendly & more than willing to do anything to make our stay there comfortable. Glynn house is definitely a great place to stay & a good location for exploring around Squam & the mountains in NH.
Some of the rooms & suites have the bathtub/shower & sink right in the bedroom (separate toilets) so if privacy is an issue, you should probably ask for a separate bathroom.
Best of luck to the new owners!

My husband and I stayed at the Glynn House Inn two nights in June to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We had an amazing time there! The place was beautiful and immaculate. Jim welcomed us and gave us a tour of the place- they thought of everything! I especially liked the home-baked cookies, the fridge available for us to use, and the DVD collection with new releases. They also had menus from all nearby restaurants and they helped us pick two nice places- they even called to make reservations and printed us out directions. Jim, in particular, was the most amazing host.

However, I wasn't exceptionally impressed with Gay. When I spoke to her to make the reservations over the phone, I specifically told her that my husband did not eat egg dishes, and I wanted to know if there would be another option, as I was calling months ahead of time and we would be visiting on a Monday and Tuesday, less crowded days. She said that was fine and she would make note of it. But when we arrived for breakfast the first morning of our visit, she brought out omelettes for both of us- when I reminded her about my request on the phone, she claimed that I never said anything and nothing was written down, and she seemed annoyed at me. Luckily, the fruit and muffins were enough to satisfy my husband, but I was disappointed. Gay just wasn't as friendly as her husband- in fact, Jim told us she was going back to nursing school and they have hired other people to take over her part in the inn, because apparently it's just not for her. Other than that little blip, everything else was amazing!

The room was spectacular- we stayed in the Jefferson Suite, and we also looked at all the other rooms while we were there (there was only one other guest), and while all the rooms were lovely, ours was EXCEPTIONAL! We LOVED the 2 person tub, the robes, the amenities, all the little snacks and chocolates put out, it truly was a lovely place.

We would go back again, but I would call back several times to confirm any special requests in the future.

We had a great stay at the Glynn House. Its a beautiful B&B, with outstanding service and the breakfast is incredible. We've stayed in a number of B&Bs over the years, and this one is at the top of our list. We're looking forward to returning very soon.

Our stay at the Glynn House was truly memorable. Jim and Gaye have thought of everything ... complementary bottled water in the fridge, fresh fruit on the counter, a basket containing bathroom items that may have been forgotten, sample menus for local restaurants, early morning tea and coffee and of course afternoon tea.
The location is so peaceful. Our room was extremely comfortable with the added luxury of a double whirlpool bath right there in the bedroom. The hearty breakfasts were gourmet - we thought we had died and gone to heaven when we tasted the freshly baked strawberry and white chocolate muffins!
We cannot recommend highly enough and will certainly spread the word back here in the UK.
