“An Inn Like no Other !!”

My wife and spent my 50th Birthday at the inn with our small dog and we had an outstanding stay. It was our first trip to New Hampshire and everything was superb. We stayed in the Teddy Roosevelt Suite, decorated in a Safari motif. The room was beautiful and even as a Pet Friendly room, we could not tell that pets had stayed there before. There were nice touches for our pet with a pillow bed in the Living room and water and food bowls set out with fresh water and dog bone treats. The gas fire place was our favorite place to warm our selves after coming in from the cold and snow. Even though we were staying in the Carriage House (separate house behind the main inn) the side walks and driveways were cleared of the fresh snow before we even stepped out in the morning for Breakfast.

For this B&B the BREAKFAST should be spelled in capital letters. We were hosted for our 4 day / 3 night stay by Glenn, one of the owners and every morning we had 2 different gourmet choices along with fresh juices, hot out of the oven muffins and fresh fruit. Pouched Eggs with Pesto sauce, Stuffed French toast with Recotta Cheese, Crepes with Raspberry sauce were some of our favorites for breakfast. Before we were finished breakfast, Glenn would make sure every guest’s arrangement for the day were set. It was like you had your own personal Concierge for the trip, making all of the arrangements for you and passing the savings from the vendors back to us. We went snowmobiling through the White Mountains and also took a Horse Drawn Individual Sleigh Ride through the country side per his recommendations and had a wonderful time. My wife had done neither before and couldn’t stop talking about the great experience she had on these adventures.

Another nice touch we enjoyed was the complementary wine and snacks in the living room where guests sat together a talked about their day’s adventures or previous dinner experience. All of the guests and the Inn keepers were very personable and you really gained a lot of local knowledge to plan you next move. If you asked, again Glenn made all of your dinner reservations for you and provided you with detail printed driving directions. They also had a wonderful Intern from England that was the happiest girl to attend to your needs and enjoyed talking with the guests in the evening about her time working at the Inn and her local experiences.

We have stayed at a number of beautiful B&Bs, but this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. We like to use Trip Advisor to check our travel plans with other people’s reviews. I wanted to set the record straight that this was the best Inn I have ever stayed at for its Service and Accommodations and would HIGHLY recommend it to all, Pet lovers, Non-Pet Lovers or just Lovers.

A very belated thank you to the couple from Philadelphia. Don and Lisa, like many other guests, selected the Glynn House to celebrate a special occasion - Don’s 50th birthday. they selected to luxurious Roosevelt Suite. Again, like many other travelers, they wanted their dog to have a vacation too. The suite selected is one of five dog friendly rooms. Our breakfast menu has expanded significantly since their visit. But the ‘stuffed french toast’ and ‘poached pesto’ are still on our 12 + entree breakfast menu. Our home is situated in the geographic center of New Hampshire and affords terrific access to a huge range of recreation options throughout the year.

The romantic Glynn House Inn – situated in the heart of New Hampshire’s spectacular lakes and mountains – offers guests an exceptional experience. A full gluten free breakfast menu is always available. Bring your favorite four-footed canine pal on holiday too and reserve one of five pet friendly rooms. Venture away from the Inn and antiquing, art galleries, boating, fine dining, fishing, golf, hiking, historic sites, ‘tax free’ shopping and scenic drives along tranquil country roads. Visit the Glynn House website for additional information about the Inn and local activities.

My husband and I have stayed at the Glynn House Inn many times. We found the inn during an on-line search of places to stay near the college where our son attends. We stayed at a local hotel for parent's weekend freshman year and since finding this inn, we have stayed here ever since.

The inn is immaculate. They do allow dogs in some rooms and I was concerned about this as I am allergic to dogs. Our room is always spotless and the innkeepers tell me they double clean when they know I am coming so my allergies will not flare up.

The value is superb. We have stayed at many inns and never has breakfast (which is outstanding) as well as afternoon tea and cookies and evening wine and hor d'ouvres been included in the cost of the room. This is truly a great value.

I have never found the innkeepers to be anything but pleasant and friendly. They are very helpful with any request you have for reservations, things to do, places to eat, etc. On our last visit, they booked a sleigh ride for us and we found ourselves running late so a quick call to Glenn at the inn and he called ahead to let them know we would not make it.

We truly feel at home when we stay here. We have stayed in all four seasons and have never had any problems with heat or air conditioning.
This is a wonderful, safe place to stay whether you plan to enjoy the lakes and mountains or just relax and unwind.

I highly recommend this lovely inn.

I am a very picky traveler. I hardly every call someplace perfect but the Glynn House comes close. We stayed for two mid-week days in January 2008. I was skeptical from the start because I've had some bad experiences at mom and pop operations but the Glynn House really came through. The owners struck the perfect balance between tending to our every need and leaving us completely alone. This is not easy to do.

We had a two-room suite in the building across a small parking lot from the main house. It was snowy and icy, but the grounds were kept clear and slip-free and meticulously maintained. Our room was spotless with a tall four poster bed in the inner room and a luxury bath with robes, a deep whirlpool and other top amenities. The outer room had a couch that folded out into a bed, a gas fireplace that we could control, a TV with cable and rental movies available, Free high speed internet was available. The only complaint I have about the room is that there weren't more comfortable seating options. Beyond the one small couch, there weren't any other really comfortable seating options. Several times a day, staff would arrive and leave snacks (cookies, coffee, etc.) in the hallway outside of our room.

We went to the main room each day for the complimentary breakfast which was superb and varied and based on local fresh ingredients. The owners even asked us what music we would like to hear played during breakfast. We were treated like royalty.

- great people: Shared fun background about buildings, Fetched wine for us, Made special breakfast for race day, Advised on restaurants, Open-minded and Welcoming

- amazing property: A lot of privacy, Romantic porch swing, Beautiful gardens, Small kitchenette, Gorgeous dining area, Well-appointed rooms (not too flowery), Large bathroom

. . . arrived Friday early evening, set us up with history of the rooms, restaurant plan and a cork screw, early morning breakfast on race day with lots of hot coffee, greeted us excitedly upon return from race asking about results, brought over two glasses of wine even though we missed the wine/cheese hour, we sat on the porch swing before walking to town for dinner, greeted next morning with warm smile and more great breakfast treats . . .

A belated thank you to the couple from Vermont. They used the Inn as a base whilst participating in one of the triathlons that take place in the local area during the summer months. We always offer athletes a very early breakfast the morning of the race. Our evening social hour - wine and hors d’oeuvres or wine and cheese - remains popular with everyone.

This was our second stay at the Glynn House in Ashland New Hampshire following our honeymoon in 2007. We had such a great time last year and were so impressed by the hospitality from the Glynn house innkeepers and staff, not to mention the wide range of activities in the area, that we decided to return for our 1st anniversary and stay for 14 nights this time.

As always, the breakfasts were awesome, the staff at Glynn House were very friendly, our room was immaculate and we didn't want to leave!

The area offers such a wide range of activities to suit all tastes and ages that to stay only a few days would be a shame. The Innkeepers have a great knowledge of the area and activities and are more than happy to make reservations for trips and restaurants on your behalf.

There isn’t anything to say about Glynn house that isn’t all good and we would recommend anyone looking to visit the Lakes/mountains area of New Hampshire to sample the beautiful Victorian home, luxury rooms and scrumptious breakfasts!

I agree with the other poster about how rude the Inn Keepers were. It was unbelievable. They are in the wrong business. They could not accomdate us for breakfast on either of the two days that we were there. This is true even though it was visting day for our sons summer camp and they were well aware in advance of our schedule. The rooms were not properly cleaned. the price was too much for what was provided. They asked us not to use air conditioning, and suggested we would be bettr off leaving the windows open in the august heat. the one unit they had was not able to cool the room. They dont want any eating drinking or candles in the room , none of the items one may expect to use at a "romantic B&B." Just does not compare to other Inns in this category but the worst was the RUDENESS of the Innkeeper and her daughter. Had they been pleasant and hospitable it probably would not have left such a sour taste in our mouth.
Final note they allows dogs so forget about sleeping unless you can sleep through the barking whenever someone comes in or out.

Easily the best B&B my wife and I have ever stayed in.

Stayed here for two nights and then we had a reservation at another place up in Sugar Hill, you know the one that looks nice on the website but is actually a dump when you get there, and we hated the place in Sugar Hill so much we called at a very late hour to come back and thankfully we got the last room.

The breakfast is fantastic, the location is very easy to find and close to plenty of activities.

This place is the real deal!
