My wife and spent my 50th Birthday at the inn with our small dog and we had an outstanding stay. It was our first trip to New Hampshire and everything was superb. We stayed in the Teddy Roosevelt Suite, decorated in a Safari motif. The room was beautiful and even as a Pet Friendly room, we could not tell that pets had stayed there before. There were nice touches for our pet with a pillow bed in the Living room and water and food bowls set out with fresh water and dog bone treats. The gas fire place was our favorite place to warm our selves after coming in from the cold and snow. Even though we were staying in the Carriage House (separate house behind the main inn) the side walks and driveways were cleared of the fresh snow before we even stepped out in the morning for Breakfast.
For this B&B the BREAKFAST should be spelled in capital letters. We were hosted for our 4 day / 3 night stay by Glenn, one of the owners and every morning we had 2 different gourmet choices along with fresh juices, hot out of the oven muffins and fresh fruit. Pouched Eggs with Pesto sauce, Stuffed French toast with Recotta Cheese, Crepes with Raspberry sauce were some of our favorites for breakfast. Before we were finished breakfast, Glenn would make sure every guest’s arrangement for the day were set. It was like you had your own personal Concierge for the trip, making all of the arrangements for you and passing the savings from the vendors back to us. We went snowmobiling through the White Mountains and also took a Horse Drawn Individual Sleigh Ride through the country side per his recommendations and had a wonderful time. My wife had done neither before and couldn’t stop talking about the great experience she had on these adventures.
Another nice touch we enjoyed was the complementary wine and snacks in the living room where guests sat together a talked about their day’s adventures or previous dinner experience. All of the guests and the Inn keepers were very personable and you really gained a lot of local knowledge to plan you next move. If you asked, again Glenn made all of your dinner reservations for you and provided you with detail printed driving directions. They also had a wonderful Intern from England that was the happiest girl to attend to your needs and enjoyed talking with the guests in the evening about her time working at the Inn and her local experiences.
We have stayed at a number of beautiful B&Bs, but this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. We like to use Trip Advisor to check our travel plans with other people’s reviews. I wanted to set the record straight that this was the best Inn I have ever stayed at for its Service and Accommodations and would HIGHLY recommend it to all, Pet lovers, Non-Pet Lovers or just Lovers.
