Food is exceptional and the atmosphere is great, especially the upstairs bar area. We ate here two days in a row on a recent visit to the area, and we had no complaints about anything. The Portsmouth Pie was excellent and the Osso Buco special one night was also superb. You can't go wrong, and not only that, the prices are reasonable.

You will not starve at this restaurant as their servings are good sized. If the weather permits you should sit outside or wear earplugs. It is always busy and reservations are recommended.

No matter if you are looking for a snack, drink or full meal, this is the place to use. Even when live entertainment was on, the noice level was sufficient to hear what you were saying. Food excellent

The Common Man restaurant was very close to our B&B and the food was very good. The atmosphere was very casual, which was nice. We ate upstairs in the bar area once and went back another evening and ate downstairs in the more formal dining area. The menu was not large, but none of us were disappointed in the quality of the food. We ate seafood and a few selections from the "New Hampshire" style offerings.

Good local produce and imaginatively served. Ate there twice on successive nights, 2nd night not quite as impressed with the service level (long wait, one incorrect order), but food still excellent.
