as usual greeted with a very friendly hello and welcome back by jeanne. waitress came over and took our order just after being seated. my wife had surf an turf (lazy man lobster and prime rib)and i had fisherman platter. the food was again of high quality and cooked to perfection. i read people complaining about the price but if you want prime food you have to pay for it. lower prices would only mean poor quality food. we drive 4 hours to get a great seafood meal and have been for many years. PS. seafood and clam chowder are some of the best..

Go for the lobster. Like dining in someone's old house. They have red wine or white wine, period. A bit pricy for the atmosphere and food.

If you are looking for very fresh seafood - lobster, haddock, scallops, etc. with no frills than this is just your place. You are limited to how these items are prepared but you know it will be the best quality seafood you will find in this area. The service is excellent and fast. They offer a full bar but only house wine, which lacks appeal. Do not expect to have a romantic dinner with ambience, this is not the place. It is like a family restaurant and can be quite loud when crowded. If you are not in the mood for seafood, they have a very nice prime rib.

Definitely over-priced. Two members of my group had baked haddock entree. Baked haddock over-cooked. Have been to this restaurant many times in past. Will not rush back. Better options available in Lakes Region.
Service was very good.

I was told you can't get better lobster in Maine. That certainly is true. The lobster, crabcakes and even the little rolls were excellent. When I first came in the hostess sat me at a table looking at the parked cars. If I am going to eat a $30 lobster that just doesn't work for me. They have only a few lake view tables in the back room. This restaurant needs a new face-lift if they are going to charge the prices they do. The ambience is terrible. There were a lot of people drinking martinis. Maybe that helps. I would come here for lunch at an off time and try to get a lake view table, but no more for dinner. If you don't care about ambience this is the place to go for lobster.
