A comfortable stay on our road trip to the Badlands. This is a good choice in the area because Alliance is such a small place, but we thought it was expensive considering the location. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was fine. The hot tub was relaxing after a long day of driving. We looked up Alliance on the web and found out that we were right near Carhenge so we made a stop there and really enjoyed it.

Although Alliance, Nebraska is hardly a tourist place, we had to stay here one night for business. For it's "in the middle of nowhere" location, they do a very nice job of keeping it clean. This is a No Frills motel. The rooms were adequately furnished and the beds were comfortable. The rooms showed low to average wear. It is a bit pricey especially for where it is, but it is clearly the best accommodations in this small town.

I stay in hotels about 70 nights per year with my job. This motel in Alliance is one of my frequent stops. There are only a couple to chose from here so, HI will get the nod every time. This property is average when compared to most HI but, the price is much higher than any others in the state. I always feel as though I am being taken advantage of due to the lack of choices. When possible it is much more economically feasible to travel another 50 miles onto Chadron where the choices are a few more and the price is much less.

Room Tip: Plan to drive a little more and save a bunch.

We did not book ahead but were pleased to see the HIE property as we had a long day on the road from Kansas City and the rest of the Motels in town did not look too good. As a consistent user of HIE and associated brands this was not the best HIE I have stayed in but far from the worst. The room was fine and the staff ok and in reality it served the purpose of an overnight stopover. There are some restaurants within walking distance as well.

I have actually come to like the Holiday Inn Express brand over the years, as you'll see from my other reviews. All of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in to date have either met or exceeded my expectations -- until this one.

This was an old building, and it had a rundown look to it. It wasn't a dump, but the rooms were small, the elevator was slow, and I was left scratching my head how I got stuck paying over $150 for this stay after taxes.

Unfortunately, the pickings are very slim in Alliance. The other hotels/motels in the area are very poorly rated, so I am assuming I got the least of all the evils.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat, try the Sam and Louie's pizza/Italian place across the street. Not gourmet food by any stretch of the imagination, but it's also about the best you're going to get in a town like this.

I still don't understand why the prices were so high, since Alliance is not near any tourist attractions, and Nebraska is not exactly a prime destination at any time of year. I assume that they are charging these rates because they know everything else in town is terrible.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn during a road trip on the way from Denver to Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone. I stayed here just for a night but I enjoyed the stay. The rooms where a bit dated however they were clean and comfortable. The people at the front desk where very welcoming. There was an evening reception of sausages and complimentary breakfast in the morning. While Alliance is a sleepy town it does have some great views.

We stayed here over night on our way to South Dakota. Check-in was great, very friendly staff. Gave us bottled water, which was nice. Our room was almost clean. Except my husband spotted someone's clipped toenails in the carpet beside the bed! The rest of the room was very clean. Breakfast was ok. By the time we got down it wasn't very fresh, but once they saw that we were there they came by and said they would freshen it up. We grabbed the fresh stuff and that was pretty good. They even offered to pack us some for the road! It was a little overpriced, but with minimal choices in Alliance there was no better option.
