Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
Ranked #8 of 17 things to do in Anaconda

A large group of my family recently visited the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort pools while visiting near Anaconda MT. It was nice relaxing and just chillin with the family. However, while we visited the pools in the evening, it was still quite crowded, but then most of these kinds of places usually are. Lots of people just come with the territory. The hot spring pool complex consists of two large indoor pools; one larger and a little cooler for general swimming, and one a little warmer for just soaking. The outside hot sping pool is also quite large with a deeper end, as well as quite a large amount of the pool shallower for the smaller guests. There is also a large pool that is much warmer for just soaking. Inside there is a men's and a women's restroom and dressing room area. While the dressing rooms and shower rooms did contain little cubicles, there were no curtian to afford you a little privacy, and I really didn't care for that at all. Also, while they have lockers available for your things, and they have signs posted advising you to use them, lost of people left their clothing in the cubicles taking up what little space you had to change. The outside area has a fair amount of room for seating, but since it was winter, very few chairs and tables were out to set your stuff on, so the only place to put your towels was on the ground where they got wet from everyone dripping on them as they walked by. They also have an indoor snack bar, but the attendent was very, very slow at assisting the patrons. I did see some kids with life jackets and play toys, but did not see where they got them from, or if they had to bring their own. I felt the pools were resonabily priced at $8+ per person, however, be aware that to use the slide there is an extra fee. Those staying at the resort get free use of the pools. I'm not sure if they still have to pay for the slide or not. All in all, it was quite relaxing, but If you don't care for crowds, some of which can be quite loud and rambunctious, this might not be the activity for you.

The kids loved the water slide and I enjoyed a nice relaxing soak in the hot springs. There are many pools and some inside, and some outside. It is a good place to visit in all seasons.

My whole family occasionally gets together and heads to Fairmont for a day of swimming and sometimes the slides. The indoor pool is always good for younger kids, though I always think the hottub is too hot! I prefer the outdoor pool and hottub, though if the weather is chilly outside, or the wind is blowing, you have to work on holding your breath and keeping your face under water for longer to stay warm!

The Hot Springs is a great family vacation spot, but the rooms are expensive and most of them are in dire need of remodeling. They do have out door water slides that are also pricey to ride on, so parents should take a lot of money to keep their kids entertained.

we were pleasantly surprised to find the hot springs at Fairmont in Anaconda very nice. i havent been there since i was a kid and remembered them to be a bit run down and creepy. well not anymore. the outdoor pools were clean well kept and with various temperatures in diffrent pools. the bar and restraunt was nice with a nice patio. the kids LOVED the waterslide that kept them occupied. we had our RV so we did not stay in the hotel but we stayed at the adjacent Fairmont RV park. the owners werent quite open yet for the season but they were very accomodating and allowed us to stay there anyhow. the facilities were nice, clean and very well kept. we will be back. It was the highlight of our trip. we hit a couple diffrent Montana hot springs on this trip and it was by far the best. the bottom of our list was Quinns Hot Springs in Paradise Montana. It was filthy. see our review under Quinns Hot Springs so you DONT get them mixed up.
