Apple Gate Inn B&B
Ranked #7 of 9 Augusta B&B and Inns

The Apple Gate Inn B&B is perfect. The hardest part is shoving your bike up the very steep hill from the Katy Trail, but once there, the inn is a wonderful reward. Our room, up the winding stairs, was large and gorgeous and comfortable. We had a jacuzzi, much appreciated after a very long difficult day on the trail. Lynn made a wonderful breakfast, served beautifully. I have stayed at a lot of B&Bs and the Apple Gate is surely my favorite. We never did make it into town (much too tired to venture any farther than the brewery too blocks away) and the room was so inviting, it was hard to drag ourselves out of it, even for dinner. I practically passed out and never got up until it was time for breakfast. The Apple Gate Inn is fantastic, awesome, wonderful, fabulous.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary! We had an amazing time. They were so sweet and really cared about our stay. They went out of their way to tell us about the restaurants in the area and the things to do. Breakfast was WONDERFUL! She even put a candle in my cinnamon bun because we told her we were expecting. We will definitely be back, and look forward to it. Great GREAT bed and breakfast!

The Apple Gate Inn exceeded our expectations. Our stay was on a weekday in winter, a time often missed by many people in preference of warmer seasons. There were no leaves on the trees, no snow on the ground, and yet the beauty of the land was clearly visible. Birds were singing, the sun was shining, and we awed at the scenic views as we topped the hills on our drive to the location. We found the inn to be inviting and squeaky-clean. We stayed in suite two, the early American styled suite. We were pleased with the new carpet, draperies, bedding, and a freshly painted room. We enjoyed the soothing warmth of the fireplace in our private sitting room as we watched satellite TV. The bathroom is small, but efficient with plenty of soft fluffy towels. The two-person sauna was a bonus that most B&B’s do not have. The queen-sized canopy bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast, made to order, was plentiful and delicious. The cinnamon-pecan cobblestone buns warm from the oven were scrumptious. We enjoyed the good selection of teas and cookies. The innkeeper, Lynn, was more than happy to talk with us and share stories about the history of the town and inn. Allowing guests to sign the dining room wall after breakfast is a fun tradition of the inn. We look forward to returning and adding another date to our name on the wall.

Room Tip: Suite two is on ground level and has a fireplace and sauna.

There are plenty of great places to stay in Augusta – stay away from this one. Poor business practices.

This is a beautiful and extremely well-run B&B. Friendly innkeeper, outstanding breakfast, lovely room with all the comforts of home, and a quiet location just off the Katy Trail. We stayed in Suite #1 and felt right at home. We are already talking about returning to this B&B with a few friends in the Spring or Fall!
