“Good hotel for the price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my wife, son, and his kids (2 rooms). It was a good value for the price and a nice hotel. It's not as nice as the new Drury Inn next door, but it's also half the price. For $59 per night, I was very happy with this hotel. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good.

The place is currently under constuction to add on a whole new wing. Free breakfast and drink/snack at night was very nice. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was clean with nice bedding and bathroom. Bed was really soft. Great restaurant behind the hotel, pricey but worth it. Tilted Kilt is a 5 minute walk away at the other end of the parking lot behind the drury inn. The pool area did not look so good. The elevator was slow and smelled bad. There also seemed to be quite a few people who live there, which was a turn-off. We ran into one outisde and she was really drunk and obnoxious. She said she lived there for over 3 years and siad that others live there as well. I was kind of surpised by this as I thought Drury Inns were a step above that. That was the only negative aspect of the trip besides all of the contruction noise nice and early. It is stil probably the best hotel in Arnold, MO but not the best one near St. Louis. The Drurys in Champaign, St. Louis, Indianapolis are much nicer.

Nice hotel, clean small bathroom. Staff very nice, happy hour in the evening with free cocktails and a breakfast buffet in the morning to get you started. Close to the highway and places to go for dinner.

Overall, an OK stay at a mid-range hotel property. Stayed 3 nights. Here are some thoughts/comments:

Lobby/breakfast area smelled of cigarette smoke (I believe some smoking rooms are on the 1st floor, so smoke likely drifted down the hall to lobby).

Better than average continental breakfast for mid-range hotel. Orange
and apple juice machine was not operational for the 3 days we stayed.
It seemed very hard for the staff to grasp the concept that they could
just fill several pitchers with OJ and leave them out by the machine.
Instead, only one small pitcher would be dropped off and it would be quickly emptied by parched guests within minutes. A refill on the pitcher took about 30 minutes. Made for a disappointing breakfast -- especially with kids.

Very small bathrooms.

Heat/AC unit was a window unit that worked well and was controlled by a wall-mounted thermostat. Also, the unit had the ability to run the fan while not heating/cooling, thus providing good "white noise" during the night.

Quiet rooms, likely due to older/sturdier construction materials vs. newer hotels with thin walls.

Staff was helpful and responsive (other than the OJ fiasco).

So, it is an OK property that would get a much higher rating if they went non-smoking throughout the hotel.

I stayed here for 1 evening while traveling from Nebraska to Florida. The check in was very quick and painless! The clerk was very friendly and helpful. So far the room seems clean, although the bathroom is indeed quite small. The hotel is quiet and is well lite around the parking lot... also easy access from I-55. There is a Denny's right next door if that interests you. They do offer free soft drinks, free 1 hour long distance and free wireless internet, so I really can't complain as of yet! This is the 2nd time I've stayed in a Drury Inn and have liked both experiences ... so far that is! They are also a pet-friendly hotel, which is VERY nice as I travel with pets!! They don't even make you stay in a stinky smoking room or charge you extra for the pets!!! My charge, with AAA is only $53!! Nice value for an evenings rest!

  • Liked — Pet friendly, easy access from I-55, and great value!
  • Disliked — Small bathroom

Stayed at the Drury Inn Arnold, MO during our recent trip to St. Louis. It was far enough out of the city to be reasonable price-wise plus it was close to family. The positives: the breakfast was very good, pool area was nice, felt very secure, staff very friendly and helpful, very quiet, convenient to all St. Louis area attractions. The negatives: bathroom was TINY, showerhead was way too low, beds were small and very uncomfortable, entire motel had a strange smell about it, could have been cleaner, but it is an older hotel so that can be understandable. Overall, it was a fairly decent hotel and for the price probably can't be beat.

We stayed at the Drury Inn for 2 nights during a short trip to St.Louis.
The Motel is next to the I-55,EXIT 191, so it's only a 15 min drive to downtown St. Louis.
Room rate was at 74.-$ including Tax for a room with 2 queen's.
The Motel and the room were very clean and well maintained. The room was spacious enough for a short trip. The room was surprisingly very quiet considering the interstate only 300 feet away.Breakfast was above average and you get 60 min of free long distance.
Overall a good experience !
