First of all...this location is NOT a chain (we'd kind of always assumed it was until we went there this evening). They've been open for just over a year here and seem to be doing ok.
So, skinny on the place is they have an scoop ice cream side and a self serve ($0.41/oz+$0.54 per topping) frozen yogurt side. They also have a few other offerings like sundaes, banana splits etc. Lots of choices on ice cream (they list approx. 50 on their take and go menu, but have maybe 15 in front of the store in the case at one time). There were about 10 frozen yogurt options when we were there (again they change these out too).
We decided to try some yellow cake batter and pink cupcake frozen yogurt (fat free yes)! Both were smooth and tasted good, think the cake batter slightly won out of the two. They have huge paper bowls to put things in on the yogurt side...would have preferred something smaller because we weren't looking to overload with toppings or spend $10 filling it up (but as someone who's worked in the food industry I know why they don't offer the smaller ones...smaller=less money spent by customers). Our bill for just under 8 oz of frozen yogurt was $3.50. That's not a huge bowl of it but ok for the 2 of us to split and get a tasting for things. Like any of the similar yogurt shops, all the small changes on things can add up quickly on your bill.
Overall, good experience. Teenagers working there weren't particularly friendly but they're teenagers working on a pretty quiet night at a yogurt/ice cream shop...not really unexpected :) If you're in the area and wanting something unique and wanting to stay away from the chain place up the road...check it out.
