Very good food in a cute atmosphere in the north woods of MN. I gave it a four instead of a five because I thought it was expensive. Another reason was due to the fact that the entrance was cluttered with 3 - 6 foot high stacks of green buckets they had for sale for $2.00 a piece. Very tacky. Looking closer at them, they were 5 gallon pails that sauerkraut they purchased came in informing everyone that an "authentic" German restaurant doesn't make its own sauerkraut. The money they gain from selling the pails in their entrance is not worth the loss of atmosphere or the lessening of the authenticity of the German food experience. This all being said, I would return and my husband concurs.

My husband is 100% German and spent time living in Germany, so when he says that the Brauhau cuisine is authentic, he knows what he is talking about. We live about a 45 minute drive from the Brauhaus, but always manage to find a reason to drive that far - probably because it is just that good. The menu offers many authentic German dinners. The Weiner Schnitzel is our favorite, served with dumplings. There is plenty of gravy for the dumplings and delicious carrots. I don't usually even like carrots, but theirs are very good. They usually offer a free appetizer - liver pate and crackers. Yummy. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it is decorated so that you feel like you are in a German family restaurant. Highly recommend it!

We go to eat here every year during our yearly family vacation since 2006. Great atmosphere, great food and a wonderful selection of German Beer. Also prices are reasonable for the portions served. And the Germany Desserts, well you can not make a bad selection.

My favorite place in the Northwoods, love the food, love the service, both are always excellent, we go here for most family birthdays, etc. Only shortcoming is no soup on the menu. This place is superb.
