I stay at this hotel about once every 6 weeks. They recently updated the lobby, restaurant and bar area to the new Courtyard standard. Regardless of your taste in decor, this is a big improvement over the old style. The restaurant staff were friendly and provide great service. The best thing is the new selections allow you to either get in and out quickly, or take a slower meal. The new boarding pass printing options are welcome. I've spent to many times waiting for some guy to finish browsing the sports news to print a boarding pass. Now there are separate PCs for boarding pass and email. The front desk staff at this location are great. Highly recommended.

Located amongst several other hotels on Boardwalk Drive, the Courtyard by Marriott is a lovely hotel with big, clean rooms and a friendly staff.

We got a "wedding rate" of $99/night, which was a great price for this hotel. The lobby is clean, spacious and nicely decorated. And the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

An interesting addition to the lobby is an interactive, touch screen LCD TV that gives feedback on local sights and restaurants, etc.

Our room was clean and well layed out with a couch and very comfortable king sized bed.

Breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant on the first floor. They serve typical breakfast items such as eggs and French toast. I had a couple of fried eggs, tater totts and toast which were pretty good.

The only issue we had was that we didn't have a car. The hotel is a few miles from downtown, so we had to rely on friends to bring us into town to see the shops and sights, etc. Of course, if you have your own car, this won't be an issue.

We had our Golden Anniversary event at this hotel. Many family members booked roms at the hotel. I did not stay at the hotel but I worked with their event coordinator. They lowered a block of rooms so that family members could stay a little longer. The block of rroms were the double/double and the king suite with a sofa bed in a separate room. This allowed families to share rooms/expenses. Many of the younger families used the pool and found it clean and a comfortable temperature. The actual event was handled like it was their personal event. Extra easels and tables were brought in to hold picture boards. The bartender was quick, efficient and friendly. She even tracked me down to return my speech that I had inadvertently left behind. The tables were all set up with a mirror in the center. The event coordinator helped us to add our centerpieces on each table. The Park Place Ballroom held 150 people, and then the hotel reserved the courtyard for us since we had 180 people RSVP they were coming. The DJ was able to set up very quickly and said that he loved their system. The hotel had the dance floor all ready also. The buffet was divine! The prime rib was tender and cooked perfectly. The salmon was absolutely perfect, juicy and flakey. The food staff made sure that new containers of food were put out as the previous ones emptied. The event coordinator worked with our master of ceremony to effeiciently release tables for the buffet. The last group was released within 30 minutes of the first group. Clean up was done so quickly that many guests hadn't even noticed the table being cleared. I highly recommend this hotel for any event you wish to have, wedding, anniverary, or business meetings.

Hotel is undergoing lobby renovation, so maybe I'm being a bit harsh.

Entry to hotel is through a little side door. Registration is in what I assume used to be a meeting room. An 8 foot table with a couple of computers serves as the business center. Reservation was made at state government rate, since I'm a state employee. "Sorry", I was told, "but the state government rate is only for Michigan state employees." I've stayed in Marriott properties all over the country at the state rate for years, this is the very first time I've encountered that. (I've run across a couple of Marriott's that have such a rule, but those made it plain on the "Rate Rules" link on Marriott's website). After telling desk agent that, she said she'd allow an exception "this one time," and honor the rate.

Room was plain--no artwork on walls in living room of suite, two oddly placed chairs that looked like they were pulled from the old lobby along with a couch, and kind of just put in the room.

Later, went to desk and asked if there was a microwave anywhere. Nope. Not one. (Odd, since the "Market" sold soup and other microwavable items). As he explained, the microwave popped the circuit breakers, so it was either the microwave or the fridge. Let me see...you can stock the fridge with things you can sell, while the microwave won't generate any income. Got it.

Oh, and the pool was "not working today."

Breakfast buffet was being served in a meeting room, which, late in the day, was in disarray, as if they quickly pulled the breakfast stuff out of the room, and left for the day.

Hallways were very institutional; brightly lit and no artwork, prints...nothing. Got the sense that this is one of those hotels that just wants to generate as much income as possible, without much thought to guest convenience.

At least they were fairly friendly. And the bed was VERY comfortable. Just not the usual Courtyard experience.

We were in town to see some family members and decided to stay at the Courtyard, because we are very Marriott loyal. We found that the staff is extremely professional and very friendly. They gave some great recommendations on dining for the evening. The beds are amazing at this place as I had no troubles falling asleep. The rooms were kept clean and it was nice to have free wireless internet at this hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and hope to return soon.

The hotel was very clean, quiet and well kept. The beds were unusually comfortable. The work-out facility is nice, but small. The staff went out of there way to make you feel welcome and recommended an outstanding restaurant in the area. Breakfast was above average but not included with our stay. Overall I would rate as "great for the price".
