Reviewed October 10, 2012

My family decided to stay at Weber's Inn because our cousin was having his wedding there. I had heard stories about how it was a really nice hotel back in the day, and a lot of wealthy people would come up for the weekend. Based on that and the price we paid, I was expecting the hotel to be very nice. It did not live up to those expectations.

The hotel is fairly close to Ann Arbor, making it a good place if you don't want to be around the U of M campus. The parking is free (always a plus!). There is a restaurant which looked really nice. The breakfast buffet looked amazing!! We only had a few minutes. So we grabbed muffins and a quick drink at the bar. But I really wish we had had the time to enjoy the buffet.

The hotel itself seems stuck between classic/old and modern/trendy. There were obvious signs of updating (the lobby area, main floor, etc.) but the rest of the hotel seemed dated. Our room was a nice size except the bathroom. The bathroom was very small. We had plenty of room in the bedroom for us and my sister in law, who slept on a rolling bed. All the beds were comfortable. My biggest complaint about our room was that there is very little soundproofing. We were on the 3rd floor above the banquet room, and the room was just shaking from the music. It was passed midnight, so I called down to the front desk to ask if they could at least turn the base down so the room didn't shake.

The banquet room was nice. The wedding and reception were well done. The food was very good as well. I was a little disappointed with the bartenders. They didn't seem to know who to make any mixed drinks other than a rum and coke.

Due to our short stay, we did not get the chance to see or go into the pool.

The service was very good. Check in was easy with no problems. The roll away bed was brought up to our room and setup fairly quickly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the other side of the hotel from the banquet room. If there is an event going on...

This is an older facility, but it has been modernized. The toilets don't always work, but the repair guys were very fast in taking care of the problems. The facility is a good choice for those with walking disabilities as there are a lot of stairs and very small elevators. The food is excellent and service superb. The piano bar was a wonderful touch. The room rates are very good and the access was very easy off the freeway.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool. Do not get a room across from the vending machines.

Our room was right off the all year round pool. We had no problem with noise and had no trouble sleeping as others reported. The bed was very comfortable so we slept well. The problem in our room was water pressure. What came out of the shower was like a camp slower. It took me a very long time to wash my hair. On the up side the bar is fun, with good casual food and good live music. For a Thursday night we had great fun. The dining room is also very good. The only down side is that they serve a baked potato that was cooked hours ago and is not hot or fleshy as a $3.50 potato should be. The staff throughout the hotel and the restaurant especially are helpful and are diligent even when they are very busy on game days. My husband had The breakfast buffet and enjoyed it. I had the eggs Benedict and it was outstanding. The hotel gets points for its history and intent to provide a nice respite.

Not sure why the first review we posted was not actually posted, but......
if you want a quiet room, don't stay by the pool on a weekend evening. And, if there's a wedding you should plan on quiet only after about 1 a.m. An extremely loud wedding was going on adjacent to the pool area, and the noise was unbelievable - even with the jet engine loud ac on in the room....

Other things like the 'little touches' such as coffee in the lobby or a bowl of fruit or cookies at checkin....those little things that are so common at far less expensive establishments are just non existent here. We will not be going back. Also, it's obvious the housecleaning crew needs some instruction. Rooms were cleaned very poorly.

And finally, it's near absolutely nothing - you cannot walk to anywhere from this hotel - it's right on the interstate, and situated on a huge two lane hiway that has nothing to offer - can't even get to a drug store without driving.

We stayed at Weber's on our way from Traverse City to Cincinnati. The hotel is lovely and clean, with a very kind staff. The pool was very nice, but there was a wedding reception going on in the ballroom right off the pool area, and it felt a little like we were invading their space when the kids were swimming. This hotel is wonderful for adults, such as couples and business travelers, and has a great restaurant and lounge. However, I do not recommend it for travelers with children, we just did not feel at home.

Room Tip: We stayed in a pool room, which has a separate door that takes you directly to the pool/spa area. T...

We stayed here while attending our son's wedding. The room was very nice as was the restraurant. The first morning my husband did ask about the Cafe breakfast and the host acted like he didn' know what he was talking about! All other food was fine. The wedding party enjoyed the lounge after the reception. Would definitely stay here again!

What a nice hotel! Rooms are clean and comfortable and we got a great mid week deal on a poolside room. The staff was very accomodating and professional and the restaurant was delicious, love the homemade breads and jams. We'll be back the next time we visit Ann Arbor.

Room Tip: Check out the specials..... poolside rooms are great for families and be sure to use the discount co...
