I had tho circle one way streets for at least fifteen minutes to get parking spot. Be prepared to walk with your packages. I'm from California and folks in Michigan cross streets anywhere and everywhere, against walk signs. Drive slow and carefully. Very friendly town.

This is the student hub of the university town, with coffee shops, bookstores, U of M insignia shops (these are not just tee shirt shops!), and two movie theatres, one of them, the Michigan Theatre, offering old, classic films. The theatre itself is worth the price of admission. It's been beautifully restored. To enjoy the flavor of Ann Arbor requires at least a few hours spent in the State St/Liberty St. area. Just be careful of those parking meters. I had difficulty using them (these are not the old-fashioned, put a quarter in the meter kind). And they are not shy about handing out parking tickets!

Always full of people, many who are students. Lots of shops and restaurants and other things to check out.
