This place is a joke. The owner / manager does not belong in the hospitality business. They are rude and disrespectful. Their kitchen is disgusting. Extremely dirty. Their dishes, glasses and silverware are gross. Their food WILL make you sick!!! Perfect example of a Kitchen Nightmare.

this is an example of a restaurant which has many lavishly described dishes on its menu, which sound good, but when the appetizers and entrees arrived, they were rather non-descript, relatively tasteless offerings. i tried the duck, which was dry and rather bland, served on a chunk of bread pudding. not necessarily a good idea. i should have tried a hamburger, always a good indicator. the interior is a little shabby and the waitress a little inexperienced.. it looks like they have a nice outdoor seating area.

My husband and I visit this restaurant often for one reason--it's close to our house. Its assets are its coziness and a beautiful outdoor setting. Unfortunately, the menu and decor leave lots to be desired. The management has added many new menu items since changing the restaurant's name about a year ago (used to be "The Lord Fox"). Many items are too expensive for the overall ambiance of the place. Some items are simply poorly prepared (McDonald's has far better fries at a fifth of the price!). One sure thing: the fish is always good. The decor, on the other hand, really needs updating. It's got a log cabin feel that is straight out of the 1040s but lacks the charm of nostalgia. It's best described as 'shabby.' Service is sometimes good, often bad. The place needs a renovation--both the food and the place--to make it commensurate with its prices (way too high for what you get). It would be worth the effort to make the needed changes because it's the only restaurant serving dinner in the Ann Arbor-Dixboro area.

I loved the Burger's, appetizers and cold draft micro draft beer. (You will not find the domestic Bud, Michelob or Coors here). We have been there three times and we plan on going again next week. Eric the owner is very friendly and accommodating to all of the patrons! A great find!

Along with The Earle, The Lord Fox is arguably one of the best classic Ann Arbor restaurants in the city, though it certainly doesn't get the attention it deserves. Located on the northeast side, the restaurant is inside an old farmhouse, where it has stood for longer than just about any other restaurant in Ann Arbor. The food is simple but well-prepared though not terribly flashy or inventive. They have an affordable wine list and excellent desserts. The service is professional and the ambience is great, though it can be a little quiet during the week, If you're looking for trendy, probably check out the Main Street ventures restaurants (just about every restaurant on Main Street now) but if you're looking for a piece of old-time Ann Arbor, the Lord Fox might be worth checking out.
