This is a must see and experience. This is a counter service restaurant that has great service and great food. I had a Reuben, the rest of my group had a variety of sandwhiches and none of us were disappointed. Full of charm & a perfect lunch spot!

“expensive, but you get high quality”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Yes, this is an expensive lunch. But the quality of the meats is way up there. The porchetta was fabulous. Four os us dined and we all loved our food. They accommodated gluten free with ease. We will go here every time we visit Ann Arbor. YUM!

“It's an experience -- a pricey one with a significant wait”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We went for lunch at about 1:30 on July 2 and found about a 15 minute line. Once you've made your selection from a huge menu, you tell a young person with a tablet device who places your order, hands you a receipt and sends you off to a cashier. It's then that she tells you it'll be a 20 to 30 minute wait for your sandwich. Then when you check out, you're hit with the bill. For our family of five who didn't over-order (5 sandwiches, 5 sodas and one bag of chips) and we were in it for $82 which seemed extraordinary for lunch outside of NYC.

We found a nice table outside and waited. And waited. And waited. Young servers would wander through their many seating areas shouting out names and you hoped you'd eventually get called. On arrival, the sandwiches were tasty, but not overwhelming. And not $82 worth.

The place seems amazingly popular and is probably worth a visit just for its funkiness, but I don't think we'd ever become regulars.

“An Authentic Deli Experience”

In short, Zingerman's has great sandwiches, salads, desserts, and beverages. The portions are so generous that sharing is highly advisable. This is the real deal!!
