Description: Gratzi, an elegant Italian restaurant with distinct style, was founded in downtown Ann Arbor, Mich. in December 1987. Formerly the Orpheum Theater, which screened the most popular movies of the day in the 1930s, Gratzi maintains the flair of the dramatic history still preserved today in the restaurant's elegant décor and ambience. Seated above Gratzi's bar is a grand sculpture of Orpheus himself, the great poet and musician, overlooking dining room guests, while a beautifully painted Renaissance-style mural depicting an ancient bacchanal reinforces the indulgent and purely pleasurable atmosphere. Indulge in the purely pleasurable atmosphere and savor unique flavors of regional Italian cuisine and wine.

When one first enters they are surprised but the cavernous feeling. The ceiling stretches to the heavens and stair cases go everywhere. In fact this is. The old Orpheum Theater built in 1911.
The spaciousness makes the place fun and the can be as interesting.
The portions are huge, so splitting is an option and the wit staff, student friendly.
Nice sidewalk seating for the good weather with the Ann Arbor side walk scene always entertaining.
Well work a visit.

Thank venamo

We've been here a number of times. The food is enjoyable if not entirely Italian (mashed potatoes? Really?). Service is always great and the atmosphere - - subdued lighting, dark wood, high ceilings is inviting. A fun place for special occasions. Portion sizing is adequate or better. I really like the Chicken Marsala and the Sea Scallops.

We went to this restaurant for a family celebration and it was wonderful...excellent food and service and something for everyone. Our server really knew her craft and added so much to a happy family gathering.

My family and I were traveling back from a trip to Chicago. We checked trip advisor and this place had very good reviews so we decided to give it a shot. The service and the food were excellent. The menus are i pads, so be prepared for that. I found it a little strange to navigate through but, hey, that is a sign of the times. Everyone including my girls enjoyed the meal. My only negative were the cocktails. Their bartender made a terrible mojito. I was able to swap it out for a glass of wine. I highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.
