My wife and I come to Ann Arbor every 6mo for a Dr. Apt. The Red Roof Inn is perfect for your short stays. They are also Pet friendly. The only down fall is they need newer beds. The one we had was very stiff and old. Overall great stay. Well be back in 6mo

From the man who sweeps the front steps, to the women who clean the rooms, to the front desk staff-Kimberly, Sarah, Barb, Jessica and all the rest of the staff I encountered during my many stays here, you won't find a more compassionate, caring group of consummate professionals in all the world-and this includes the staff of the Big Boy restaurant adjoined with the motel. I have stayed in many motels in my life from Michigan to Ft.Lauderdale, Florida, and have never had the exceptional care shown me here. I would highly recommend this motel, and the restaurant adjoined to anyone traveling or having family members hospitalized at Uof M hospital, as I did. Thank you, Lindsay Goll

We stayed here while my husband had elective surgery at the U of M Hospital which is only about 3 miles away. The staff could not be more thoughtful and helpful. They provide a special discounted rate to folks needing to go to the hospital. They were very supportive and asked often about my husband's health. Fortunately, everything went fine with my husband's surgery, but he was restricted to lifting no more than 10 pounds. We had two big cases we use in our work that were 40+ pounds each. The manager herself came when we checked out and helped me get them in the car. Helped?? Actually, she did it herself and would not let me touch them. I cannot say enough good about this place and its staff.

We stayed in two rooms with our teenage daughters next door to us. Since we need two rooms now that the girls are older, this hotel was a good deal for us and didn't disappoint. The rooms were clean and smelled good (we are very picky about smells and smoke). The hotel staff was very polite and the place seemed well managed and safe.

First of all, this is a two-star motel. So, if you want a mint on your pillow you need to spend more someplace else. But if you want to get in from the cold to a clean, warm room then this is as good as it gets. Desk attendant was pleasant. Can't really comment on service because I don't need much, and don't ask for much, just wanted to spend the night.

So, for about $50-60 per night you get:

-A Room
-A toilet/bathtub room, the fan was a little noisy
-A single sink vanity outside the bath (so when one person is getting ready, everybody wakes up).
-A desk
-Wireless internet
-A TV (CRT) basic
-Thick soft pillows, not foam
-Springy, a-bit-on-the-soft-side mattresses.

It is connected to an Elias Brother's "Big Boy" restaurant and it is right off the expressway about a 10 minute drive from University of Michigan's North Campus. The area seems safe, and there is a CVS drugs in the same parking lot, lots of nearby food places.

But remember, TWO STAR motel. BASIC. You will not find a cheaper place to stay, and if you are looking for that, you need look no further. I found nothing objectionable and will definitely stay there again.
