“Pricey casual”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

Food was excellent. Seating is very casual. Park picnic table painted white casual. Setting unique in a good way. Lots of energy and action at dinner times. The taste of the food is amazing, this is what it's about. The staff is cordial and attentive.

“Food Was Very Oily”
Reviewed June 29, 2014 via mobile

Some of the dishes were great, black beans tasted just like those we used to get when we lived Miami. The fried plantains and conch fritters were good. We all thought the conch fritters could have used some more conch. We had six people in our group and most felt the frida (and we all had different ones) were way too oily to finish. The cilantro and garlic fries were fabulous. But, I had to rate the good as average since the fridas (basically a hamburger) are what they are supposed to do best.

I personally didn't care for the atmosphere. The place is very small, stark and very noisy. I wasn't a fan of the large, communal picnic tables either. Fortunately, one if the two tables outside opened up and we were able to sit out there instead of inside.

The prices also seems high for the type of food they are serving, basically burgers, fries and very small milk shakes. We spent about $22.50 per person for two adults and four children. We've had way better meals for far less.

“If you have seen the movie "Chef" get your cuban sandwich here!”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

After seeing the movie "Chef", I had to try a cuban sandwich. The sandwich is made up of 3 different kinds of pork (Lemongrass roast pork, thick cut bacon and tasso ham), pickles, gruyère cheese and cuban bread with chipotle mayo. The sandwich is delicious but also very rich. I ordered a whole cuban and got a side of garlic cilantro fries. That was way too much food. Next time I would order the ‘INSPIRED CUBAN’ COMBO* which is half a cuban with a side dish. You have your choice of Big Bright Salad OR Black Bean Cream OR ‘Best Snack Ever’. BLACK BEAN CREAM is cilantro-lime salsa & crème fraîche

BIG BRIGHT SALAD is Hearts of romaine w/piquillo peppers, fresh mango & citrus-scented crisped and crumbled plantains. Dressed w/fresh lime & extra virgin olive oil

layered coconut-ginger rice, black beans, melted meunster & cilantro-lime salsa

My friend got the open faced grilled cheese with melted muenster, tomato, red onion, a avocado spread and lemon scented mayo on brioche. She loved it, it was a very light meal which is what she wanted. She also got a mango milkshake which she enjoyed.

I saw many people also ordering a frita chorizo sausage sandwich with a fried egg on top. They seemed to be enjoying them. There is also water at each table if you prefer that over other drinks.

The inside has long picnic type tables and there is also limited seating outside. I would definitely come back again.

“Delicious food in unique casual atmosphere”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

Asked our tour guide at U of M where he likes to go when his folks are in town, and he sent us here. Great advice! We had a great meal, enjoyed the casual atmosphere, the folks at the counter were helpful (as it was our first time in, and we had some questions about portion size, etc..), and the food was great! We will be back!

A hamburger like no other. Mad from a variety of ingredients of your choice; chorizo or chicken or beef served with what you want.
I had the chicken with a fried egg over their salad. The best chicken caesar salad I've had in a long time.
The drinks were great as was the service (partially order yourself).
Busy and cheap.
Don't expect luxury but one goes there for the food.
Table outside.
