One of the best places in Sucre. The food and service is great and prices give good value. Try the meat and the brownie.

After reading the reviews on TA we decided to visit the restaurant for dinner. I ordered the pepper steak with mashed potato and was blown away with how good it was. Steak was cooked perfecty medium rare and potato was faultless. This place is number 1 on tripadvisor for a reason. Decore and ambiance of the place is very nice aswell. If in Sucre DO NOT MISS

We went to Abis patio based on tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed! The BBQ burger and fries was absolutely delicious and juicy, and the BBQ dipping sauce was yum. We'd previously eaten a burger up the street at Joyride which was also good, but this much better. We also had chocolate milk for the hungover ones and it was delish.finished off with a giant brownie and icecream - the meal was reasonable with the burger around 35 Bolivianos, brownie icecream for 20 Bolivianos.

We walked into Abis per recommendations of fellow travelers. As soon as we entered we saw their home made ice cream and a beautiful patio in the back. The owner immediately approached our table and started chatting. During the chat my girlfriend said she was rather chilly, so he tried to ignite the patio heaters, and after they wouldn't turn on, he actually went to his office and grabbed a GAP sweatshirt for her! So nice. We all ordered the BBQ burgers and nachos as an appetizer. The food was terrific! One of if not the best burger I've had in South America. So if you're into Western food I highly recommend Abis, and talk to the owner he's great.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments you left about Abis Patio on TA. I regret the burner did not make it at that time. I hope she had it warm enough with the sweater. The weather is a bit strange at the moment. We should not have to use the burners during the summertime.
We wih you a great and safe trip further.

I stayed in Sucre for 1 month whilst studying Spanish and helping out at a hostel and this place was like a little western oasis in the middle of Bolivia. I ended up at Abis almost every second day ( sometimes twice in one day...). The atmosphere is beautiful with a nice outdoor patio, very friendly staff and music that makes you want to sing along.
The food! I miss it so much! The steaks are amazing, the fries are hot, crispy and to die for, ice cream made in Abis factory but the one thing that kept me coming back was the burgers! In particular the BBQ burger with home made BBQ sauce.... AMAZING! It is definitely a must try.

On a side note, if you are there while the owner is around, don't be shocked when you see him personally welcome everyone at every table and ask about your travels, where you're from among other things. He is absolutely lovelt and if you were ever to find yourself in a sticky situation in Sucre, i have no doubt they would have the advice that you need.
