This is a clean, comfortable hostel in a good location. Mirtha is friendly and speaks excellent English so we were able to pre-book our mines tour through her before we arrived. She also booked our bus ticket to Uyuni for us. Despite arriving before 7am we were able to go straight to our room.

The room was a good size with views over Cerro Rico. The water was hot and there were plenty of blankets to keep you warm at night. Wifi worked ok (we were on the 2nd floor) and the breakfast was ok (the usual bread, jam and eggs plus fruit).

If you want a clean, quiet, friendly place to stay I would recommend hostel Tukos.

Everyone says don't bother staying overnight in Potosi and with the level of accommodation I understand why. This place was just ok but a lot more expensive than you expect for Bolivia and not worth it. The rooms were pretty grim, filthy carpets, stained walls. Wifi wasn't great. Toilet took forever to refill. Breakfast was ok, in a weird conference room set up. Cold scrambled egg, bread and jam. If you have to stay in Potosi I'd try find somewhere cheaper as it just wasn't worth it. That said I didn't try anywhere else. The staff were super friendly and helpful though.

We booked ahead on Booking.com, much more expensive than other hotels that we stayed in, and not worth the extra money. It was clean, but nothing special, and our toilet didn't flush properly. We moved after one night to somewhere cheaper, and with more character.

We were a little worried in reading all the reviews on all the hotels and hostels in Potosi - but when we found the reviews for this one thought it looked promising. And it was! Very comfortable and clean accommodations, reliable hot water, plenteous breakfast (also for the gluten-free!), and a pleasant and smart owner, as well as nice staff. Internet connection with 2 computers available on the 2nd floor (perhaps elsewhere, but we didn't try). We had one small issue with our room we mentioned upon leaving that the owner was very quick to say she was happy to know about so she could make it better. Although the location says a few blocks from the plaza, don't forget Potosi is in a steep valley at 13,000 feet ... those few blocks were hard to walk! But still quite convenient, close by to museums, tour places, and shopping. We'd definitely stay there again if we were in Potosi.

Room Tip: We chose room 14, the largest, as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. Though we probably didn...

we stayed in this hostel for two nights after getting here from uyuni. in our point of view potosi itself is not really beautiful, so to enter the really nice hostal was great. our room (nr 14) had a great view on cerro rico. unfortunately there were no curtains, so we woke up early each morning. there are enough blankets on the beds and also a heating in the room. sometimes you have to wait for the hot water and there is not always enough waterpressure to take a good shower. you have a great view over potosi from the rooftop-terrasse. the wifi is ok allover the hostel and the two computers are ok. breakfast was really good (fruit, tea, bread, scrumbled eggs, cake, juice...). even if you are the last for breakfast you can ask for more bread and they get it for you.

Stayed here for two nights and quite enjoyed it. They arranged taxis, bus tickets and mine tours for us. The room was comfy, the shower was warm and the breakfast was good. The internet connection on the 2nd floor was also pretty good for Bolivia. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Good price - quality at the Tukos hotel. We stayed here on a really cold day and we were happy to know that the heater at the room really did work. The hostel is easy to find because it is painted blue on the outside and it is just a couple blocks to the main square. The lady at the reception was really friendly, the room was nice, clean and big.
The breakfast is not spectacular, but has everything you need for a good start of the day with coffee, tea, bread, eggs and fruits. The only thing was the bed linnen was too small for the bed so it let loose all the time, but with a next visit to Potosi I would defenitely go back!
