“Friendly staff, good location”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Stayed here for two nights and quite enjoyed it. They arranged taxis, bus tickets and mine tours for us. The room was comfy, the shower was warm and the breakfast was good. The internet connection on the 2nd floor was also pretty good for Bolivia. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Good price - quality at the Tukos hotel. We stayed here on a really cold day and we were happy to know that the heater at the room really did work. The hostel is easy to find because it is painted blue on the outside and it is just a couple blocks to the main square. The lady at the reception was really friendly, the room was nice, clean and big.
The breakfast is not spectacular, but has everything you need for a good start of the day with coffee, tea, bread, eggs and fruits. The only thing was the bed linnen was too small for the bed so it let loose all the time, but with a next visit to Potosi I would defenitely go back!

Stayed 2 nights for US $54. Pleasant surprise after reading the Potosi reviews. Possible to pay by credit card. Short down hill walk to main plaza. 2 computers for use. Wifi worked strongly on first level but the room connection was a little indifferent. Bathroom more than OK with hot water...door didn't fully open though as it would hit the basin. Comfortable and warm double bed...think the room may have also been heated. Breakfast average but OK. Very clean. Most staff did not speak English (Not a criticsm) but there was one guy on check out who did. Area to sit downstairs in addition to a good view from roof top terrace. walls a little thin if you have a noisy group next to you but overall this was a pretty good choice.A little dated but very comfortable and reflective of Potosi itself.

located on a 5 minutes distance from the central square this is a very good choise in Potosi. Safe, clean with large rooms and hot water. From all rroms and hotel terace you will also have an excellent view on Potosi. Customer service is also very good. The onlyminus is the breakfast, so basic...for 25$ per night is totaly recomended

We were supposed to stay here for 2 nights but in the end it was 3 becuz we got sick. We were looking forward for something comfy after some rough days in Uyuni but we were not that impressed (for the 250bs we paid we expected something more)

The good:
- wifi more or less regular
- Comfy bed
- Nice breakfast buffet
- Cheap laundry service
- Nice staff
- Nice views of the city
- Location is central

The bad:
- No real curtains and the window in the room is huge so a lot of light in the morning.
- The central heating was very irregular and only worked at times
- The real problem was the shower- we ddint have a proper shower all the time we were there: just a few drops of boiling hot water and when you try to regulate it with the cold water the hot water dies completely and just a few drops of icy cold water. We tried everything but it didnt work. So becuz of this we were a bit disappointed. I mean, what is the use of spending a little more for a nice place and then you cant even have a shower?

This place could be really nice with some improvements.

We stayed in a matrimonial room which was extremely big and very well heated. It would be the equivalent of a suite in Europe. From our room there was a great view of the mountains. There was hot water available. Free Wifi was also available, however it was not the strongest from our room. There were two computers available on the second floors that had a good internet connection.
The hotel was not nosiy at all and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was the standard for Bolivia. However the breakfast room was fairly cold first thing in the morning, as the heater had not been on for long.
The hotel was very helpful when it came to booking our mining tour. The tour we recieved was extremely good and our guide had excellent english.
