I stayed here for two nights as part of a tour. The hotel itself was okay, though there was no secure baggage storage. We were made to leave our luggage in the living room area before rooms were ready and after we checked out.

The hotel was humid and cold. A strange maze of half flights of stairs to the rooms. My room had a window to the back entrance and was quite loud early in the morning. I believe this was as employees came to work. The hall and my room was also freezing as the back door was wide open!

I was quite chilly at night - bring your thermals!

There was good water pressure and hot water along with large clean towels. Unexpected for Bolivia but much appreciated.

There is free WiFi and an included breakfast. Hotel is just a block or two from the supermarket - a long enough walk in the elevation. Its a couple blocks off the main square, downhill. Coming home can be strenuous if you aren't acclimated. Take it slow.

Only stayed here for one night as part of GAdventures trip. Fairly well located for central square etc. Room was ok although nothing special. Very noisy at night as had a team of young sportmen staying who seemed to think that corridors were there for a party. Surprised that hotel management did not deal with this as no sound proofing in the hotel. Breakfast was ok

Good hotel to stay a night and do some activities in Potosi. Room was clean, has central heating and tv. No bad remarks.

Breakfast was included and is ok.

The location is close to the center. Restaurants are closeby.

Stayed here for 2 nights and noted out toilet wasn't working well on first day. Informed the staff, who came into the room and told us it was fine. Ofcourse it stopped flushing and we told the staff multiple times who didn't assist us with the matter. They were rude and very unhelpful. The rooms were good size, comfortable but nothing special. Would recommend staying somewhere closer to the main square

At the junction of two busy streets care needs to be taken when entering and leaving the hotel. It is a colonial style building with rooms in two wings on two floors. There is a first-floor sitting room that is bright and airy with good views of Cerro Rico. My room was at the rear, away from the noise of the busy traffic. It was spacious and warm with a large, comfortable double bed. In addition to the desk/dressing table and stool, there was a table and two dining chairs - great if you want to have take-away food. There was also a full sized refrigerator.
Breakfast was reasonable and served in a rather gloomy dining room.
I don't know if it is a regular occurrence but the hotel suffered a lengthy power cut on the second morning (possibly a result of days of torrential rain). This cut off the hot water supply and disrupted breakfast. The staff coped well and could hardly be blamed for the inconvenience.
The reception staff were helpful but not exactly friendly and cheerful.
The hotel is fine for a brief visit to Potosi.

Although facilities looked alright, we never got a chance to stay as they had mixed up our tour group reservation with another (both G Adv.) despite us calling them 3 times to confirm. It seems they did not bother checking the tour code to make sure. Mistakes happen and that's all good but no compensation was given at all- not even for the bus ride for our group to go back to another hotel. Overall, highly recommend to make sure of the reservation before you arrive (whether by yourself or tour group) and don't expect great service should anything go wrong.

As far a Potosi goes, you can do a lot worse than the Gran Libertador. Locations wise, its close to the city centre (pedestrian street and plaza 2/3 blocks away) and also 2 blocks from the cities only real supermarket.
Breakfast is pretty standard as far as Bolivia goes, but receptions staff are helpful, and rooms are clean. Wifi seems to work throughout, and if not, there are 2 computers for guest use as well - fast than wifi!
