Village Inn has been around a long time. And it does not have an updated decor. But what it lacks in style, it makes up with excellent service and value. From the host who seats you and listens to your needs to the excellent server - Christa - who was timely with our orders, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Three of the four of us had the mini meal of liver and onions (not the favorite of many, we know) and we were very pleased. We were taking our folks out for a meal, who are newly in assisted living, and wanted to find some good home style cooking. A generous portion with an incredible amount of grilled onions, home made cole slaw and we had the choice of potato - among other items. I had the American fries done very nicely with extra onion added no charge. My husband had mashed potatoes with gravy. Late in the meal, I tried his and was surprised to find that it was still hot. The plates came out heated but the gravy had been made quite hot as well which was really nice. Meals were $29 total before tip. Our local restaurant, where we would usually go for liver and onions, has changed hands .. so we are happy to find a place within a short drive that offers an excellent serving with a very friendly atmosphere. We will be going again.
