I stayed at this hotel from Jan. 10 - 14. The entire time the air conditioning did not work. After the first night, I complained to the front desk and they switched me from room 616 to room 804. The air conditioning worked only slightly better in room 804. I complained again and the maintenance worker came to the room and said he needed to adjust something in another area of the hotel. It appeared that either the system did not function properly or the hotel restricts the temperature from going below a certain degree. Even after the maintenance worker did what he said he needed to do the a/c only fell one additional degree in temperature. The room still remained too hot for my family to sleep comfortably. This Sheraton should not be part of the Marriott brand.

We unfortunately were not staying here but they were more than happy for us to come in and have drinks on there beautiful sun terrace facing the sea. There was loads of staff to keep everyone’s drinks topped up and you were Never waiting long for service! There’s a lovely snack menu with plenty to choose from. This is a very modern well appointed hotel with top class facilities as you would expect.

We decided to stay in Vina Del Mar after our cruise of South America which ended in San Antonio. Our research revealed that this area would be more relaxed and had beaches rather than nearby Valparaíso. We did, however, visit Valparaíso for the atmosphere and incredible inclinators which travel up and down the steep hills and the interesting port area.

We had a wonderful and beautiful view of the ocean from our large room and felt very comfortable as the room was well appointed. There is no turn down service at night and the water never got really hot in the bathroom which were the only little things which were not quite 5 star.

The buffet breakfast which was included in our room was plentiful and assisted by friendly and helpful assistants.

We received great advice from knowledgeable Paula at the front desk about our travel plans to the nearby areas and she was a wonderful ambassador for this older icon hotel on the waterfront. Luis who checked us in was also friendly and efficient and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Drinks on the terrace every evening with amazing views was a definite highlight. Recommended for a lovely family stay with good amenities in a convenient time
area.

This Sheraton far surpassed our expectations. First, of course, was the awesome room on the sixth floor over looking the ocean. We could hear the waves at night, all night. There was a nice seating area on the deck where we had our coffee and appreciated the view. The bed was ultra comfy and the room was huge. Second was the service of everyone at this hotel. Every single person was friendly, helpful and proud of this hotel. We spent a lot of time with the concierge, Luis, who helped us tremendously. He gave us a nice step by step itinerary for exploring the Valparaiso area, including a great lunch recommendation at Tres Pesces. We had the hotel arrange our transport from the Santiago airport as we were coming in on a late flight from Punta Arenas. They also took care of getting us to our hotel in Santiago, including a winery stop in Casa Blanca on the way. The breakfast was very nice and included eggs, fruit, etc. The gym was a very big for a hotel with a lot of equipment, including a separate spin room. Overall we highly recommend this hotel. They aim to please and really do. We’re so glad we chose this hotel for the two days we were in the area.

A stay of three nights and we were very happy with all aspects (room, location and service). Location was just amazing directly on a headland on the Pacific Ocean, the views from the outside bar area were wonderful. You can walk into bars/restuarants in Vina del Mar in apprximately 10 min; we felt very safe doing so (with lots of families, runners etc)

We eat in the hotel for a couple of lunches and one dinner which was absolutely fine and with good service. Avocardo Queen desert was amazing; but you must like Avocardo (my wifes hates them !). Food in hotel is 20-25% more expensive than outside as you would expect but that is the price of the conveniance.

Old town in Valparaiso is a must do and we had a wonderful few hours. The hotel can supply a map and we got the train there and back. Train station is a 10-15 min walk from the hotel and you get of at the Puerto terminus.

We also walked from the hotel along the full length of Vina Del Mar beach (120-130min return). Great "people watching" and a really family feel to the place.

Minor issue with linked booking with the hotel but the manager (Roberta) resolved things and acknowledged the learnings.
