The food at BiCE was mediocre for an up-market restaurant. The pasta was slightly overcooked and the beef tenderloin was not very inventive. The Penne Arrabiata was so hot we needed to send it back to the kitchen. Certainly Arrabiata should be spicy but this level was not suitable for an Italian restaurant.
The 2009 Rhone wine, however, was very very good.
Service overall was good. It was obvious they had received training on how to serve. Also, one of the waiters had a chat with us about the wine which was quite interesting.
When enquiring over the phone about gluten free options before visiting the restaurant staff was rushed and unfriendly.
The atmosphere at BiCE is quite nice. To our liking the music was a bit too loud and upbeat. Something a bit less loud and maybe a bit more classic would have made it easier to have a conversation without having to raise your voice.
Overall it was OK, but the food was not good enough to justify the high prices. You can find better Italian food cheaper elsewhere.
