“Another great stay at the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Thanks to the staff of the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City for another great stay.

As always the team were very friendly and kind.

The reception area is fantastic with some small side areas for meetings which I utilised a great deal during my recent stay.

Room Tip: Stay on the Creek side but try for a free upgrade!

The hotel is located in Festival City on the creek side. There is are 2 pools one for lane swimming and a general pool surrounded by a nice grassy apron overlooking the creek. The rooms are large and modern. There is free wifi in all the rooms. It is slightly out of Dubai but only a short taxi ride to the Dubai Mall and there is also a metro station very close and a bus to it from the area. Walking distance from the hotel (there is an air conditioned walk way for the summer) is the Festival City shopping mall with a wide range of shops and a whole array of restaurants and cafe’s. I had a very comfortable stay and felt completely safe though I was a lone woman

Room Tip: Ask for a creek view room

This is a very nice hotel , well furnished and in an excellent location. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are generous. It shares facilities with Intercontinental next door and the pool areas are very nice and very well maintained. There are numerous restaurants onsite and in adjoinging Festival City Centre.... . The staff are wonderful - breakfast from the a la carte was very very slow but the waiter apologised explained kitchen was v v busy and offerreed the buffet while waited for the order to arrive - a really ni=ce and professional gesture. Would thoroughly recommend anytime ! :)

From the minute we checked in to the late check out, we received wonderful service from this great hotel. The room was comfortable, modern, clean & well appointed.
The breakfast buffet was excellent....anything & everything you could possibly want......including as many "cafe lattes" you could drink.( Breakfast was included with our room rate) Sit outside & enjoy the view while indulging in a relaxing breakfast & wifi. Only problem is the smoker's sit outside to smoke...and there are a lot of them. One suggestion to the hotel, would be to have a non smoking outdoor patio, so all could enjoy the fresh air!
The outdoor pool & gardens are beautiful with many lounge chairs, tables & sofa's. The pool attendants are willing to move chairs, umbrella's etc to make you very comfortable.
The hotel is connect to a large shopping mall with Ikea & Hyperpanda.
Many restaurants within walking distance & taxi's are plentiful & very reasonable if you want to go exploring.

Rooms are very well presented (if possible ask for a creek view, a little nicer than the road view). Guests can use the facilities of the hotel or the Intercontinental (adjoining). Staff are well trained. Nice cafe's bars etc in both hotels and if you want to take a very short stroll to festival center (shopping mall) you will find even more eating/drinking options as well as shopping and entertainment. I would honestly say this is one of the best hotels in Dubai.

We arrived at 2.30am after a pretty rubbish flight on Emirates (understaffed on their A380) and the food outlets were closed. But Room Service came up trumps in 20 minutes and saved the day. The most comfortable hotel bed my wife and I have ever stayed in. Very high tech lighting in the room, and bizarrely, the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a large picture window and an electrically driven venetian blind!

Restaurant service and food range was excellent, and the only problem was that my wife needs a gluten free diet, and they had run out of GF bread. She had thoughtfully brought her own loaf, and toasted it in the restaurant. The next day they had been out and bought a GF loaf. The only real negative was the continuous music played from waterproof loudspeakers around the pool area.

The hotel does not have its own shuttle bus service, so it needs a taxi to get anywhere, through the typical Dubai traffic. The easiest way to get around is to twke the taxi to the 'Emirates' metro station, and get a Nol card. The Metro is first class and you can get anywhere in Dubai at very reasonable cost. Dubai Mall station, however, is about .5 mile from the Mall itself, via covered walkways and travellators

Room Tip: Rooms facing the creek are more expensive, but don't waste your money on an upgrade: you'll...
