“Just Plain Awesome!”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Where should I begin? First, I made my booking online and put in the comments that I'd need an airport transfer and would send my flight details later. about 2 weeks prior to my arrival I received an email from the concierge staff to iron out the details for my transfer. Needless to say that was flawless! Upon arrival at the InterContinental the staff was already waiting for me. I quickly copied my passport and was on my way to my room! Fastest checkin at any hotel I've ever had!

The rooms were excellent. Marble bathrooms with bathtubs where the water comes out of the ceiling! All the major amenities that you would expect are in the room: mini bar, flat screen TV with plenty of cable channels, etc.

The location of the hotel is nice. A walkway connects it to the Festival City Mall for plenty of shopping and the Hard Rock Cafe is right around the corner.

About the only complaint that I have is the service in the bistro, just off the main lobby. Service was a little lacking. Upon ordering, the only other time I saw the wait staff was to bring my food. I had to ask for the check by walking up to the counter.

Check out was as easy as check in and I was on my way in no time! All in all, very good place to stay.

Can't say enough about this Intercon in Dubai. Easy and friendly check in with excellent service throughout. The bed was super comfortable and the reading sofa was appreciated. The bath was lovely too. I will definitely return. The location in Festval City is nothing to fret about as a taxi will take you to all important locations in five or ten minutes.

Room Tip: Just ask for a good room at check in!

I was on a business trip(conference) at Dubai and stayed at this highly rated hotel. It was very much fit for purpose, albeit a bit overpriced(info for readers). It is connected to Festival City shopping mall which is quite convenient, for this Mall is quite affordable(as compared to Mall of Dubai for instance). Dubai Hard Rock Caffe is practically adjacent to the hotel. Rooms were very clean, spacious and well equipped, even though it could be better given the price range and hotel rating. There was no working desk, just a small round table at the wrong location, which could be annoying for business travelers. Conference rooms and other facilities are really good with exceptional service. There were three excellent restaurants that we had dinner in,i.e. Anise(various international and local dishes, open 24 hours), Terra Firma(steak house) and Madleine that offers delicious french food. Overall, a very good hotel for the conference and other business activities, but If I was to choose for the family trip, I would look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Some rooms within the same price range are equipped with espresso making machine, whereas others are...

Located by the Creek, this is a very modern, stylish and very well run hotel. We had a city view club room which was perfect for our 9 day stay.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Perfectly placed to see the sites of Dubai or get to the business area.
The breakfast buffet had the widest selection I have ever seen in a hotel.

Room Tip: Pay for a city view club room and enjoy the creek view from the club lounge

Perhaps my review is colored a bit that I did not want to lose my weekend in Dubai but was trapped by an unavoidable business meeting. I really like Dubai but I did not want to be in that conference.

The hotel has a lot of nice points:
- Great location, close to both airport and services of Dubai Festival City
- Excellent staff
- Great restaurants
- Very good conference facilities
- Nice car service around the city
- Spa and gym

What frustrated me was my time in the room. The basics were very good, big, nice bed and high speed internet. But the room was gloomy, dark colors, dim lighting. I did not have a desk! Just a single round table with reclining chairs which are unsuitable for work at the computer. Lastly and exceedingly annoyingly, I could not find a power outlet in room. I finally was forced to call the concierge and was guided to a hidden panel which had a single power outlet. This is very annoying! In a day of laptops, iPads, phones and other gear why hide the power outlets. In short, the room is not good place to work. But the hotel is a nice place to stay.

Very clean and nice hotel. I was there in a business trip for 2 nights and spent most of the time in the hotel or the area around the hotel (Festival City).

Recently stayed here while at a conference in UAE. This is a really nice hotel, very modern decor and rooms. While it is a large chain hotel and therefore somewhat inevitably somewhat impersonal, staff were very pleasant and efficient.

My room was very spacious and nicely decorated, with a great view over the Dubai skyline (not all rooms have this view, however, so it is worth asking for this at reception). Wifi in room was speedy and reliable. There are several restaurants in the hotel, I didn't try them all but those I did try were excellent. The hotel bar again has a nice view over Dubai and good beer. The breakfast buffet is excellent,

One downside to the hotel is possibly its location. While near to the airport, it is well away from Dubai downtown. Festival City, where the hotel is located, is basically a marina and shopping mall. The latter is not very exciting, a few Indian shops and jewelers are of interest but other than that the selection of M&S, IKEA, Costa Coffee, and other often British chain stores did make me feel like I was in a warmer version of West Quay shopping centre in Southampton.

One good thing though is that the adjoining Crown Plaza hotel has a Belgian bar which has draft Belgian beers and food like muscles and waterzooi. Yum!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the Dubai skyline
