Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Even if you book you must be prepared to queue to come up and down. We went at sunset but unfortunately it was very unclear and we did not get great views or sunset due to the smog. I think early morning would be best.

We didn't go to the very top of the building which was a bit disappointing but we did get to see some lovely views of Dubai. There was a lot of interactive information too, which was useful.
The staff handled to crowd very well making sure the queue moved as quickly as possible.

Fantastic opportunity to see Dubai from 124 stories high. Fastest lift ride in the world and what an amazing sight from up there. We went at night which was beautiful as the whole place was lit up. Did wonder what their carbon footprint is though ? If in Dubai , it's a worthwhile trip. If you book online it's half the price.

I was at Dubai Mall when I sort of happened upon it. I did intend to go up it, but saw the ticket counter and was able to secure tickets for the next group going up. We waited in a lobby for a few minutes but it was interesting reading up some facts about the building and seeing pictures of how it compares to other tall buildings around the world. The elevator ride is quick and my only disappointment was how the haze which is apparently quite normal for summer, made the visibility so bad. You couldn't even see the sea which isn't very far from there. Up that high we should have been able to see for miles. I thought it was a bit over priced too, but its one of those things that you just have to do to be able to say you've done! I enjoyed the experience.
