Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

“At the Top in Dubai”

We purchased tickets online-then you go to a kiosk at the counters and print your own ticket. No lines, no hassle. When it was time to get in line and go through security-no hassle. We thought it might be really crowded once we went to the top, but it wasn't and there were plenty of open spaces to walk around and spend time taking pictures and looking out. It was better than I expected with the crowds. The elevator getting you up to the top was smooth and very fast.

“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

There seems to be some confusion from other writers about the actual entry cost. If you buy a timed ticket online, or buy the same ticket at the entrance the price is the same; AED125.
If you are desperate and want to just turn up and get straight in then the cost is AED400.
We bought a timed ticket for 10am entry the day before and were asked to be at the entrance by 9.45am, which we did.
It is worthwhile being there early because once you get to the actual lifts, those at the back of the group have to wait for those in front to ascend.

The trip to the observation deck is, as others have said, very fast, once there you;ll find 2 different observation areas; one outside to the left of the lifts, and one inside.
It is better to visit the outside deck first because the views are not "spoilt" by the windows; either way the views are spectacular.

There is no timing restriction on how long to stay there, however my guess is the later in the day you visit there are more likely to be more people remaining from earlier visits. We had plenty of space and time to see everything and were back at ground level by 10.50am.

If you have a car, as we did, there is free parking in the Dubai Mall car park; look for the Fashion parking, which is the nearest to the entrance of the tower.
