Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

It has facts about the building but the hold up is queueing as part of control of the visitors as there are only two lifts

Well when in Dubai you have to visit the tallest building in the world.

Booked the tickets online(which is far more cheaper: 100 vs 400) - I took the sega republic combo offer. You need to book the tickets well in advance online to get a preferred time slot.

Finding the entrance took some time but we reached to encounter a queue. The building is truly an engineering marvel. The lift took us less than a minute to reach not the top but some 40 floors lower than the top.

The views are good not spectacular, views are largely of concrete buildings, sea n desert. There's a shop selling small Burj Khalifa's and related items. The making of burj khalifa is interestingly displayed.

There are no comparisons but I liked the top of Eiffel tower more than the Burj Khalifa.

We visited the Burj april 29 opting for the opening slot at 9 a.m. as the sunset hours were already booked. Unfortunately we hit a week of bad, cloudy weather and when we had the viewing it was cloudy and hazy. Thus we could not even see the Sail of the famous hotel, nor even the skyscrapers near the marina...Our only immediate viewing was of the skyscrapers immediately beside the burj khalifa..The elevator going up was probably the best part as you wonder how you can travel so fast and without any ear problems from first to 124th floor. We took loads of pictures but of course with the haze not too great. Thus, maybe worth paying the full price at last minute to go when you are assured of the weather that you have. I had pre-booked of course and paid around 24 euros per person...Sincerely nothing to write home about. *Also a word to the wise: if you take the metro to see the sight DO CALCULATE THAT YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST ANOTHER 30 MINUTES once getting of the metro to get to the entrance of the tower...it is NOT BESIDE the metro stop at all..
