Owner description: Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

It is a very nice experience, i was expecting to go to a higher level so this was bit disappointing. But it was worth it and the view was very nice...

I visited Dubai and saw this building from road(ground) ;from sky while flying in sea plane and by visiting it from inside . It may be a tallest building but nothing is so special about it from inside ;from road and from sky. It certainly stands out as a tallest visible structure from all side of Dubai among many high rising beautiful structures in that emirate . One has to really sweat out to purchase entry permit although one may have advance booking voucher ;and then has to pass through a through check ;you can not take inside even an expensive eatable as harmless and packed - sealed biscuit or a small bottle of water ;every such thing will be taken away from you to be thrown in waste basket. Then be prepared to stand in the Q for the lift(elevator) which may take 30 to 40 minutes before your turn comes to enter in the so called high-tech elevator . The elevator takes you to 124th floor in about 57 sec or less as claimed which is true but one does not get the feeling or thrill of going up in a very very fast moving elevator . The children and kids look for such thrill and when they reach up they ask "we did not feel the joy of moving in a fast moving elevator; is it true that we came up up so fast"Kids and children are not interested in time being shown in watch but want to feel the joy and thrill of a fast moving elevator One will get a delightful view some may call it amazing view of whole city full of light below you . That is the only attraction .Click photos . Be careful to stand again in the Q ;the sign- board there says it may take 45 minutes before you reach the elevator .Come down and walk away feeling cheated that one has spend so much time ;money and energy in just getting the view of the city from the top .There are many simpler way to do so Visit to to this building from inside or seeing it from sky neither gives the pleasure nor impression that one is inside or out side the famous " tallest" building (at present) in the world There is small gallery at the entrance to the elevator while going up that gives the details about other tall buildings in the world and another gallery depicting the different stages of construction as you walk out

Be sure to buy your tickets online before you go. The price is better and you can pick your time. When we arrived people were being turned away because there were no more times available.

The Burj Khalifa is a spectacular sight, especially at night when it is lite up. We took the elevator to the 124th floor to view Dubai in the evening. The ride up was surprisingly quiet and quick. You can view the Dubai fountains from a different perspective up there and overlooking the city is beautiful at night.
