“Top of the notch hotel”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel 4 times now, over Christmas and New Year for the last 4 years. It never ceases to impress me, so every time I come back to the UK I end up booking up again immediately for the following year (which I have already done for 2014/2015 New Year).

The General Manager Michael Sorgenfrey is the only manager from hotels I've stayed in around Dubai that takes care in looking after the clientele - every morning whilst at breakfast he came around to speak to each table and check everyone is ok. Generally he went out of his way and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and looked after - everything you'd expect from a top hotel. He is a credit to The Address Organisation!

For those who haven't been, its in a fantastic location with lots of places walkable from the hotel, including the Dubai Mall, the Fountains, Burj Khalifa, Metro and the Al Bahar Souk where there's plenty of restaurants to sample. The only downside at Christmas time is that it gets busy out the front, and sometimes its difficult to get a taxi. More organisation or more staff are needed for the valet parking to handle the volume of super cars turn up. Looks like these people use the valet parking for access to the Souk and the restaurants, but as a result the hotel clientele can suffer in terms of access to taxis etc, although you can get some great pictures of super cars!

One minor thing, carpet in our room was tired and could do with changing, but nothing to complain or worry about, and I'm sure it will be done. Otherwise absolutely fantastic, and looking forward to coming back at the end of 2014. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed here over the new year 2014. The hotel is in an excellent location for the Dubai mall a fantastic and huge mall. The hotel is lovely with traditional style rooms. Breakfasts were all self service but plenty of choice and quality. The only issue I found was that the pool is on the small side for the size of the hotel and people were leaving books etc to hold sun beds before breakfast and then not arriving until after 11. I really think the hotel should discourage this.
We ate in thiptara on the 31st and had brilliant views of the fireworks from the Burj Khalifa . I also visited the spa which was beautiful and the therapists were excellent

I recently stayed in The Palace Hotel in Dubai. I had an excellent experience. The Hotel is well located and has great ambiance. You feel like you are in the Middle East. Several of the restaurants are excellent, including the Argentinian steak house and the Thai restaurant. The Staff are excellent. I would note in particular Chitra, at the concierge desk, and Jeroen, one of the managers. Both were extremely helpful. The location, right next to the Burj Khalifa and the Fountain is also great. I would highly recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Room with a view of the Fountain.

2 day stay en route to Maldives.
The driver was waiting for us at arrivals & we were whisked away in a white BMW 3 series with aircon, through the morning traffic. This was really stress free & very welcome after a long tiring flight.
Our flight was overnight from Glasgow; we arrived at 10:00am, the room was ready within the hour. Quick, friendly check-in. Our room smelt quite musty on immediate occupation; however, this smell quickly cleared once the door was opened onto the balcony.
We had a fountain view & also excellent view of Burj Khalifa. As we were a honeymoon couple we had been left a bottle of red wine & plate of cheese. We also had a chocolate cake with "Happy Honeymoon" on.
All this was just what we needed after a long flight in which we didn't sleep a wink......Next time we'll fly business or first class as this flight made us really jet lagged for at least two days & interfered with our short stay.
The shower water was cold first time we used it; I reported this to reception, they were going to send maintenance; however, I tried the shower again & the water was hot so we quickly cancelled the call.
The portable phone by the bed didn't work so we used the phone on the desk, this wasn't a big issue.
The reception was beautifully decorated & the smell was wonderful; all the staff were impeccably turned out, very friendly & professional.
The bed was sooooo comfortable, the only downside was noise from a building site which finished at 02:00 & restarted at 04:00. We live in the country & are used to sleeping in absolute silence. This noise coupled with our jet lag kept us awake & didn't help our recovery. Maybe triple glazed windows would help?
Our turndown service was memorable; towels shaped into swans, a love heart at the base & rose petals on the bed. Rose petals in the bath with bubbles too!
We were 5 mins walk from the Dubai Mall which was excellent. The mall itself is outstanding.
We ate in the Asado Argentinean restaurant. The food was also outstanding & excellently presented. Quite expensive compared with the same standard in the U.K but this IS Dubai! The beef fillet was one of the best I've eaten.
The breakfast was again, excellent. Eggs Benedict was first class. Freshly squeezed juice, turkey bacon on the side; a fabulous start to the day!
Our checkout was swift & painless. If we return to Dubai we would definitely stay here again.

We just spent 5 days at this magnificent hotel. It is conveniently located whether you are in Dubai on business or on leisure. Close to key business centers and adjacent to the great Dubai Mall. In contrary to many areas in the constant developing Dubai region, this appears to be close to completion - at least at this stage - very few disturbing constructions going on and good road and Metro communications.
We had a Palace room with lake view - spacious, all required amenites, comfortable bath facilities, quiet atmosphere and an always attentive and smiling room service staff.
The breakfast buffet in the Ewaan Restaurant had a great selection which should accomodate the most particular breakfast palate. We visited this restaurant in the evening for a dinner buffet - which also was a memorable experience - from the crisp and fresh Canadian lobster and sea food/fish selections to the finest meat/beef choices and desserts. We also recommend the Argentinian beef restaurant Asado - but maybe most of all Thai Thiptara with its fabulous set menues, situated on a separate building close to the lake - overlooking the Fountain Play and Burj Khalifa .......
Our room selection, Palace room, included breakfast - but maybe more important, complementary return transfer airport/hotel ... which we really appreciated when arriving at 3 AM in the morning - and still were met by the reception staff with warm hospitality, checking in around 3.30 AM and invited to this fine room!
Also recommended: Close by the entrance to Souk al Bahar next to the hotel (en walking route to Dubai Shopping Mall) is a fine restaurant MeatCo with a good food selection and a high service level - and which is also licensed for those which this matters ...
This was our 2.nd visit to The Palace - and definitely not the last ....

Room Tip: Rooms close to the lake may experience some noise from the Fountain play - but these performances ar...

Hotel looks like old king palace simply great!!! Lots of attractions within walking distance like souk bahar shops, Dubai Mall, restaurants, lakeside walks etc. Great selection of restaurants inside the hotel and quality Breakfast, beautiful pool area and smiling staff. Our friends advice us not to missed mouthwatering Afternoon tea at the Palace hotel. May be it is our bad day we were not acknowledged when we went to the Lobby for afternoon tea , after waiting for some time waitress finally saw that we are there and seeking for service, order was taken, waited long time to get the food still attention was missing. We saw staffs were chatting but attention was not given towards us. Beautiful hotel, fantastic location service so and so... Think twice before making a plan to visit.

Room Tip: Book room from where you can watch dancing fountain rather than artificial lake view.
