“Nice public beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

It has free part and paid part. I was in paid part, which was nice and lots of activities for kids. Only sand was not very clean (you can find cigarettes filters or sweets papers in it), some people play with ball close to others who enjou sunshine.

“Not My First Choice!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

I went to Al-Mamzar park yesterday (March 30th, 2013) and found it disappointing. The beach area was not clean and could see garbage here and there.... No life-guards were there on duty and no one was there in life-guard posts throughout my stay (for around 3 hours) making it unsafe to swim there, no one will rescue you just in case.... The dress changing and shower facilities were unclean and appeared they were less attended by cleaning staff. Number of the shower chambers are very few and we had to wait in a line for long.... No locker facility exits in the park... The staff on duty don't behave friendly. The 5 AED fee collected from visitors should be spent on the development / maintenance of the park. The overall environment was quite though. The administration of the park needs to attend to aforementioned matter in order to make it a visitors friendly place!

“Family park”

It was a nice park with beach access. Mostly muslim families so, it was nice to be able to access beach without seeing lot of western bikini clad tourists on the beach.

“Lovely place off the beaten path with some downsides”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

Loved this place. went there on recommendation from locals as it is less frequented by tourists. So on a weekday in end January it was fairly empty. Getting there is no problem as any taxi will take you but getting out was a bit of a problem with shortages of taxi and a big queue forming outside around the 3.30pm mark which also is the time when the taxi drivers finish and start their shifts. But this place is a gem with acres of green fields, five different beaches, two swimming pools (one shallow for young ones), children's play areas, food stalls, loads of barbecue to use and cottage accommodation. The fist two beaches were a a bit crowded and then we decided to head to the swimming pool. There were a bunch of teenage boys there on the main pool but it didn't bother us. We decided to go to the shallow one with our 3 year old and we spent about 3.5 hours there only coming out for lunch. Finding the swimming pools was a bit of a challenge (perhaps they could provide better signs and directions). The staff were all lovely. there is a small charge for the park and another small charge for the pools but its definitely worth it. The small shop near the pool was a bit limited as for food and snack but had excellent stock for swim related stuff. Its a kind of place where with a bit of planning you could spend a whole day and perhaps finish off with a BBQ with friends and family.
