“Central, Efficient and Good Service”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

The hotel is no oil painting in comparison to many of the shimmering towers in Dubai but the service and location are absolutely excellent. The rooms are fair in size when compared to other hotels but better equipped than many. It has everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible... which pretty much echoes the staff - they're friendly, efficient and well trained.

The pool area is a great bonus to escape the heat but don't expect a tropical getaway, it's a pool in an inner-city hotel. Finally don't expect to find many deals in Dubai. That ship sailed decades ago, so expect prices in this hotel to be comparable to hotels in Europe and not hotels in the Far East.

We stayed here for four nights in January. We had two rooms which were lovely, clean and comfortable and well equipped. The shower in one of the rooms was a bit sluggish but other than that it was fine.
Breakfast was not included in the price and it was expensive but we decided to try it on the first morning. The fruit selection was limited, if you don't like melon you're a bit stuck really, the palin and chocolate croissants ran out and were not replenished. Worse than this was the hot selection which was most certainly not hot. Tomatoes were luke warm and the turkey bacon and sausages were stone cold. I approached the man who was cooking eggs and he completely blanked me. I saw him serve a couple of men after me with courtesy and a smile so am not sure what I did wrong there.
The next morning we went to the boulevard cafe outside and were once again told there were no chocolate or plain croissants - a bit ridiculous for this sort of cafe!
We went to the Dubai Mall which is, handily, across the road after this and found that the service was more friendly and supplies more plentiful.
Having said this the staff in the rest of the hotel were very friendly and helpful and we had a lovely time. There is a nice pool too.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a view of the Burj Khalifa and a balcony

Stayed at the hotel during Christmas and New Year while visiting with family that lives in Old Town. The room, including the bed, was clean and comfortable, the front desk and other staff was focussed on being helpful, the food was excellent, Internet newspaper, water, and chocolates were complimentary. Only drawback is poor sound isolation from street and hallway - no sounds from neighboring rooms, though. All in all: We'll be happy stay at the Al Manzil again.

Great place! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful and located a few minutes walk from Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa. Spent four nights with family, we really loved the place. I would definitely go back there and would recommend it to others.
We only used the restaurant for breakfast, and there was a wide variety of food. Even my picky children could find something to their taste!
All in all a wonderful experience, adding to the great time we had!

Returned for another perfect stay. Loved it again. Beautiful architecture. Clean nice rooms. Courtyard cafe is marvellous. Close to burj and mall. Service is great. Appreciate that the hotel seems to be liked by locals and international guests as well.

My family and I just got back from Dubai and have lots of good things to say about the Al Manzil Hotel. It's wonderfully located across the street from the Souk Al Bahar and a short 10 minute walk from the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. In fact we had a breathtaking view of the Burj Khalifa from our balcony. A second positive is the employees and managers are extremely friendly from top to bottom, and they will bend over backwards to please you. In fact, Dubai might be be one the friendliest cities you ever visit. A third positive is the rooms are spotless and kept extremely clean by a spectacular housekeeping staff. Even the buffet breakfast is outstanding with a wide variety of hot and cold foods.

So what's not to like about this top notch hotel - the wide open bathrooms that sit in the middle of the rooms with no door, no shades, and virtually no privacy. My wife and I usually don't need privacy so the see-through shower is no big deal. But one night we were there I had terrible heartburn and stomach aches and had to keep going to the bathroom. I had to turn on the light, and it kept her up all night because the light shines into the whole room. I'm not sure what the original thought was when the hotel was built. Maybe the layout was done to save space or money. But in my opinion it is a big negative. Their sister hotel, the Qamardeen, is styled the same way, and I was told it is now closed and under going renovation partly because of the bathroom issue. It was also suggested that the Al Manzil will be next to be remodeled.

Look, this is a great hotel. Top notch in almost every way. Remodeled bathrooms might make it a 5-star hotel. I would highly recommend staying there once everything is finished. And ask for Hazel at the front desk. She is the epitome of what every great hotel worker should be.

We were there for a 1 week city trip and are happy that we have choosen this Hotel.
All the staff is extraordinary friendly, but we had the feeling that this is not only trained, that's the naturally behavior of them. We arrived in the middle of the night and after 5 minutes we were in the room, the luggage was there and everything was ok.
The Bar at the Pool is a nice location to close the day, but the restaurants also are fine. It was great for us to have the breakfast outside in a wonderful courtyard.
The Hotel is very close to the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa ( 10 Minutes Walking), the area is very nice.
