Owner description: The Jumeirah Mosque is a must see since it is a land mark of Dubai. It is not the largest mosque in the UAE, yet it is one of the few open to non-Muslims. The Visit Programme is hosted by The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. The visit itself takes about an hour for a small fee. Mosque visitors get the chance to observe the prayer and learn more about the customs of worship and ask any questions under the banner program "Open doors. Open minds." Jumeirah Mosque showcases the medieval Fatimid architecture in its stone construction. Visit tours are offered daily accept Friday and begin at 10am sharp. No pre-registration is required. Plan to arrive at 9:30am for registration and enjoy Emirati snacks and hot beverages. Doors will close at 10:05am and will reopen at 11:15am. There is only one guided tour daily. Entry fee is 20AED per person while children under 12 free. The Mosque grounds are open all day, and you may view the Jumeirah Mosque's beautiful architecture from the outside any day of the week. Located at the end of Jumeirah Beach Road, the closest Metro stop is Al Jafiliya. From there you can take a short taxi ride to the mosque or transfer to C10 RTA bus. Modest dress is advisable, however national attire can be borrowed at the door.

“Your must do in Dubai”

We arrived early to the visit at the mosque, at 9.40. There were many people but the queue didn't last long. You pay 10drh each. Try and remember to cover your shoulders and legs if you are either woman/man. Women will also be asked to cover their hair. You can bring your own or they will supply one to you. Hospitality is great with a lady from the Cultural Centre for cutlural understanding giving a talk about Islam. All very interesting if you are at all interested in history or in fact religion. Then an Emirati gentleman showed us how the Islamic prayer is done.

The mosque itself is really beautiful and it is a privilege to be able to visit it. I recommend this visit if you are unfamiliar with the middle East and with Islam.

“Enlightening”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

The tour of the mosque was excellent. It was given by a lovely lady called Latifah, a Londoner who converted to Islam 20 years ago. Whether you view Islam favourably or not, and whether you know much about it or not, it's a truly educational and interesting talk and there are no questions they won't answer. I liked the way they demonstrated Salah (prayer) and were very candid about modern Islam and global current events. More moderate, cultural interaction and openness like this can only be a good thing to fight stereotypes.

“Jumeirah Mosque portion”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We went on the tour of the mosque, which is part of the SMCCU. It is only at 10am and not on Fridays. The mosque itself is gorgeous, but not very large, so don't expect an expansive, several room tour. But well worth the 10Dirham.

“A beautiful Mosque”

Beautiful architecture. I never went inside so cannot comment any further. There are many mosques in Dubai and they all look similar to me.

“Good experience”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

Learned a lot. Tour started on time, very well explained and you can ask any and all the questions you may have. Ladies must cover their hair with a shawl (they will lend you one if you don't bring one). Girls don't have to cover their hair. You can take pictures and videos inside the Mosque. Good Experience.
