Two of us stayed here on my second visit to Dubai, the first having been in 2010 (see Metropolitan Palace review). We arrived at around 11am having taken the bus from Abu Dhabi, a short metro then a short taxi, so coupled with an overnight flight from Munich, we were pretty shattered!

The taxi dropped us off right at the door of the hotel and our bags were taken to reception for us. Check in took a little while since the hotel had been booked as part of a special deal, however once we got to the room we were rewarded with a 19th floor view of the Burj Khalifa and the surrounding skyscrapers along the Sheikh Zayed Road! Perfect view!

The hotel is situated in Bur Dubai, a short walk away from Al Fahidi Metro station (doable even in the 40C June heat!) This is on the Green Line, the more recent of the two lines currently in operation, however one stop further is Burjuman, the interchange with the Red Line, which will take you up to the airport one way and down past Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, amongst others to Jebel Ali, the other way. Bur Dubai can be a little seedy but it is not unsafe; there are a few well-known bars for picking up prostitutes near the metro station in the hotels on the crossroads there, not that that's my sort of thing; merely an observation and possibly a warning to those wanting to stay in the area on honeymoon or any other romantic getaway,

The room itself was spacious and immaculately clean, however one of the plugs was faulty, as I discovered when trying to charge my toothbrush! Thankfully we were only plunged into darkness for a few minutes and we didn't bother with that socket again! (For the record Dubai uses 3-pin plugs, identical to those in the UK). There was also a pump issue, meaning that cold water was very hard to obtain; this wasn't a problem when washing or showering, but trying to fill up a bottle with cold water was a bit of a nightmare. Thankfully some local shops came to my rescue,

The beds were very comfortable and we definitely needed them, especially on the first night and due to the fact that we were often out at night and sleeping in the mornings! The room service were kind enough to make up the room even at 2pm when we needed sleep until gone midday!

The swimming pool was also a nice place to be with quiet music playing in the background, however it was somewhat lacking in atmosphere. The hotel wasn't overly full in June, however, and most guests probably preferred to go out all day,

There is a sports bar on the ground floor (only visited briefly but seemed lively enough) and a Greek restaurant (would love to have tried, but we ended up eating in Dubai Mall or down the road from the hotel every night) as well as a pub (beer is very expensive in Dubai; a stark contrast to the Czech Republic where I'd been the previous week!)

Check out on the last day was also painless and a taxi arrived promptly at 6am given it was Friday morning before Ramadan, in order to take us to the bus for Abu Dhabi (no metro before around 1pm on a Friday!) whereupon our flight left at 10:10 for Manchester,

If the hotel could sort out the water and plugs issue, it would fall into the Excellent category. As it is, I rate it Very Good. Yes the location isn't overly central but a short walk or taxi (minimum fare AED10 or just short of £2 regardless of distance) will get you pretty much anywhere you need to be!

We only had 1 day and 2 nights at this hotel. Arrived at approx. 3AM, staff we were friendly, welcoming attentive to our needs. We had the executive room, very spacious with a kitchen as well, not that we needed it. Too hot to have a coffee or breakfast outside however the hotel was fully air conditioned all round. Airport is approx. 10-15km away and Dubai Shopping Mall was very close by to the hotel.

There were many very good aspects to this hotel, but the best part was the staff. All were friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home in a city that was entirely new to us (we're from the USA). That made a huge difference for us! We will be back if we are ever traveling again in Dubai.

Its is a decent hotel. not centrally located but not too far either. The rooms are of good size but hospitality can be much better. The rooms was maintained well but the human touch was missing. the breakfast was an ok spread but got really crowded so didn't enjoy much.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for seven nights in June/July 2013, and had an absolutely amazing experience. We were meeting there during a break in his deployment, and hadn't seen each other for four months prior to arriving. The hotel staff made our stay so comfortable, exciting, and personal. They sent champagne to our room, left rose petals on our bed, and gave us one of the best rooms in the place. The restaurant food at Elia and Tirquaz were incredible. We ate at both twice. We also enjoyed playing darts at Barrels Pub and went to the Music Hall to dance one evening. The gym and pool areas were clean and comfortable and a great way to refresh. While the location is not near the major Dubai attractions, it was perfect for us as we were there primarily for each other, and not necessarily to see Dubai. That being said, it was not difficult nor expensive to get to the attractions- we visited the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach, and Atlantis/The Palm. Fantastic little piece of heaven in the desert!

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms are beautiful!

I stayed at this hotel with my husband in the first week of june, before arriving i had read alot of negative reviews however i can not fault this hotel. The staff are very polite, when we went to check in the receptionist (brenda) checked us in within minutes which was great as we were very tired from our early morning flight, we were given the 12th floor which had amazing views of the burj khalifa. The room and bathroom were a comfortable size. The guys outside the hotel who bring your car for you were always happy to have a chat (mr eric) shops and restaurants are literally 10 mins walk away however if you are staying there in the hotter months be aware that you will be soaked in sweat as soon as you step outside but this didn't bother me as i much prefer the hot weather over the cold! The pool was a nice size and well maintained. Overall i enjoyed my stay at the majestic and would definitely stay here again!

It was our first visit to Dubai and was travelling with my wife and daughter aged 5 years. The stay at hotel Majestic Tower was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff at the reception was helpful and smilingly accepted our request and offered us a room on a higher floor which had a view of the Dubai skyline and also of Burj Khalifa. The room was comfortable with lovely view from big window (floor to ceiling). Wi fi Internet was complimentary along with tea/coffee maker. The toilet was clean and had a bathtub but the only downside was that the flow from the shower was very weak. The lady at the travel desk was also very helpful in arranging our various sightseeing trips and excursions. The hotel is 10 minutes walk to Al Fahidi metro station and is conveniently located in Bur Dubai with lot of local shopping options around. Good value for money if you get it within USD 75 a night. It also about 20 minutes walk from Dubai Museum, a must visit if you have about 03-04 hours to spend to know the history of Dubai. It also has a pub which appears to be happening but cannot give any review on it as we were unable to pay a visit.
