“An Oasis”
Reviewed September 6, 2011

Stopped overnight to break the long flight from Rome to Melbourne. The reception staff were first class, the room spacious, comfortable and restful. There were soft lights in the room, a bowl of fresh fruit, tea and coffee making facilities, and a large bed, turned back, with beautiful linen.
It was bliss not to have to go through Customs, and to be so close to the departure lounge the next morning, without all the hassles.
However, you pay for the privilege!
To me, it was money well spent and I would highly recommend it for the comfort and convenience.

I have tried on two seperate occassions to book a room at the Dubai International Hotel from their website. The prices quoted are anywhere from AED 500 and up. After completing the online form I supplied my credit card information. On both occassions the computer timed out prior to the transaction being comleted. Coincidentaly, I received an email shortly thereafter from the hotel offering to assist with my booking. The price offered was significantly higher than the price offered online. The first time I stayed there the price quoted online was AED 500 plus taxes..but the price paid was 600. The second time the online price quoted was AED 700 plus taxes and the price offered via email was 800 plus taxes.

This being said there are little options for the long layover unless you plan on sitting in the airport....Good luck.

There are two hotels on the airport, one in T1 and the other T3, both airside. I have stayed in both on a number of occasions, but I would say that theT1 hotel has the better rooms. However both room types are very spacious, quiet, very comfortable beds and pillows, bathroom (shower only) good quality fittings and all soaps, shampoos including toothpaste, combs, razor etc are provided. I would recommend carrying a change of shirt and underwear/socks as you will not be able to get access to your checked baggage. Slightly pricey, but book early on line and it is a lot cheaper. The first time I 'came in off the street' and paid £160+, but it comes down to circa £100 when booked online. Hoiwever, as I was on a business account the price wasn't a problem. If you fancy a drink , there is an Irish Village pub on the concourse - all drinks are VVVery expensive in the Emirates so don't blanch at the prices! If you book directly with the hotel online, a rep will meet you at the arrival gate and take you to the hotel. Once you get into your room you wouldn't know you were in an airport!

I was surprised to see the hotel rooms inside the terminal. Very convenient for long trips. Bellboy waits for you at the gate and takes you to reception and help with check-in and settle in. They have a nice little business center you can use for e-mails, printing, skyping,...
The rooms are very clean and surprisingly very quiet for a room inside the terminal.
Overall, I loved it! I would stay there again.

We were flying into Dubai from Durban in South Africa and we desperately wanted a shower! We asked in reception at the Dubai International hotel - they were so very helpful. They directed us to their health club where private shower facilities are available. This includes a towelling robe, towels, all the toiletries you could possibly need - spotlessly clean. It costs US$ 14 per person but well worth every penny. I did not want to come out of the shower! There are also hair dryers available. It did help a lot as we had nearly 8 hours to face getting into Gatwick. You just come through arrivals, into departures and you will see a sign for the hotel - just get into the lift and head for reception.

We chose to stay at the Dubai International Hotel for the convenience. We had an 8-hour connection and decided to stay in the Airport.

If it is your first time in Dubai ever and you get 8 hours or more to wait for you connection, do consider staying here. It is not too expensive, they charge for every six hours. For us it was a total of 160 dollars.

To use the mini bar of the room they require an extra 300 AED (around 80 USD) which is totally not worth it since there are mini markets inside the airport in walking distance where you can buy sodas and water for 7 AED (less than 2 USD). Even a Starbucks right in front of the entrance.

The restaurants around the airport are very cozy in the early hours of the morning and are open 24 hours. Food is great too and not expensive.

We merely used to room to sleep for 3 hours and take a shower, other than that, there is a lot to do inside an airport and the variety of stores and things to see is very interesting. So it was a fun experience!

I decided to stay @ Dubai International Airport Hotel for my 7 hours stopover in Dubai. I did not want to book a hotel but my husband insisted on it. It was worth it! The room was big, stylist & nice. The bed was comfy & i had a good sleep before my next connection flight to Singapore :) The shower was awesome! Will definitely book this hotel if i have a long stopover in Dubai.
